I’m not a huge fan of separate standard and deluxe releases, but the 50 and the 85 probably could’ve benefited from it.

From that video, it looks like the arms required some additional engineering to accommodate the large arm cannon.

They could’ve done a regular figure with normal arms and just a portrait, hands, and stand for about $375. And then have a deluxe version with every accessory including the accessory pack ones for $475 alongside it.

This figure will still sell sinde it’s Iron Man, but it’s really getting harder to justify these.

Anyone else find the blatant seam going across the bottom of Iron Man's torso to be a huge eye soar? It really bothers me for some reason...also it doesn't help that the Mk 85 looks so much better than this...

I find this one better than the 85, just like I prefer the 6 over the 7. It was the only armor in IW & I'm guessing the 85 is going to be the 45 all over again.

I agree. But like the thigh gap I personally think it would be something I would just get used to after a while.

I mean I don't personally plan on displaying my $400 plus Iron Man figure facing backwards looking towards the wall so no, not really.

Well I went back and looked at the prior recent Diecast Iron Men (46/47, 4/5/6) and it seems like the with the Mk 50 HT started this extra bend on the bottom torso to allow for additional articulation.

I think it would have looked way better if they could have somehow integrated the break into the amour design rather than making it a straight line, which makes the break/seam very jarring and noticeable.

i gotta admit that the reveal of the 85 took away some of my excitement of the 50 especially when i’m someone who gets fomo from not having the latest and greatest

also even though i was always excited to have the 50 on order, it wasn’t my favorite suit. but after seeing the 4dummy and justin review videos i think HT knocked it out of the park with this. especially with justin’s video having a side by side compare with the 46

i feel like the sideshow review from last week garnered some mixed reviews but something tells me that once in hand a lot of people are going to be holding this figure in high regard.

I think he means that the 50 will be the primary suit through a majority of the movie only to have the 85 brought to the final battle. Also, similar to the original avengers film where the mark VI was worn right up until the final battle in the mark VII

I don't really see that happening myself, especially after it already had a prominent role in one movie and was completely trashed by the end. Why go through the trouble of rebuilding that armor if we're just going to see him in a brand new one later on?

That's pretty much what I meant, but not that the 50 would return. Think it's going to be a final battle type armor though that doesn't bring any major upgrades, but definitely is nice looking. Like the 45.

I think rebuilding MK50 is not an issue as long as he has enough Nanites/Nanobots available.

If he can manufacture this little critters when he is back in earth then he can rebuilt it by command alone.

Not sure if 85 is made up of this Technology as well but of different blend. (mixed with a cocktail of Vibranium)

From the short facebook discussion I had with the artist of Mark 50, the upgrade from 50 to 85 is more of a software upgrade than it is a whole a new armor, which is why 85 has similar design aspects. If true, that explains 51-84 and why we'll probably never see them... He really has peaked, and can only upgrade the nano-tech software at this point, I suppose the nano-material can be upgraded as well. Seems pretty obvious now that I typed it all out.

I always figured with a nano upgrade the 85 could morph into any other armor if needed really. Need a heavier armor? morph. something more basic? Morph...

I doubt it. Rumor is the trailers were grabbed from the first 30 minutes of the movie so unless Marvel is showing us fake footage again, the 85 will be on the movie early on.
