As SSC seem to be producing these in small batches, I don’t think they will end up having to clear them out and discount them. They would probably produce the number that’s demanded and shops aren’t buying in a lot of them because of the price. Like the place where I’m getting it is getting only two of these - mine and one other. ...so I wouldn’t count on these ever getting much cheaper.

Added a few more characters to my temporary Jabba display. Love this thing. Really need to get some of those LumeCubes to take better pictures...

It's possible this could be had for a little less down the line but I doubt it. They won't be making a massive number of these and the old release was already selling for the price of the new before this was announced. If you want this it might be cheapest right now before every place is charging tax and/or Jabba sells out.

Well I've scraped together the dollars to cover this, but I just can't bring myself to bite the bullet.

I even have enough pennies at PopCultcha to give me 10% off...but it's still $1000AUS....just very unsure

I'D Like to try steal this pose from sideshows dio version. I think if used the change up part's it could be close if have leia just buy long chain.

Jabba needs to get something for that infected eye (the closed eye always looks a bit "swollen" to me.):lol

Nice set-up, love seeing "the crew" all assembling around this thing.:clap It's the ultimate SW centerpiece.

Yeah, it's not that common anymore to see SSC stuff sitting and discounted (It has on a few pieces - I think SSC 3PO is STILL in stock after a number of years.) Especially this type of thing - as someone said, at this pricepoint each one of these sitting in a warehouse costs them $$$.

It's the fact that all-in this thing hovers at a full grand is what really throws a wet blanket on all the fun.:(

I say it ad-nauseum but I really hate how SSC prices have gone so sky-high on everything. sad this didn't come out 4 years ago - it would have been $600 back then for the exact same set.

It's hard to believe Sideshow's Dagobah was only 275 when released. This along with hot toys 89 ride & delorean most I've spent on this hobby and still LOVE seeing everyday. There will be NO Bargain's for mighty Jabba! ha ha i used big 75 credit's in rewards toward's him.

Very nice set up Stryker.

Thanks.

Haha! Now that you say that, I can't unsee it.

He is pretty amazing. Definitely worthy of a highlighted display area.

High prices have caused me to evolve as a collector. I have developed a new filter and its basically this….”It’s a nice piece but it is not a $1000 piece”. Face it being a collector is a waste of money!! The worst thing Toy/Collectable company can do is making us collectors aware the value of money!!! Our desire to own a “cool figure” should always blind us to the amount of money we are spending, not make us aware!!

I'm in CA so Sideshow is already charging me tax.

I must have got a good one then. That and I paid nothing for this as I had trade to barter with...

It's the typical case with these types of very expensive collectibles--you get a good one with no problems ...everything is golden

Get one with problems or another with similar problems well your millage will vary...

For now this is my favorite Star Wars figure.

For now this is my favorite Star Wars statue.

I fixed that comment for you... :lol

I still don't understand how Sideshow or anyone can call this an action figure. It is not by any sense or definition of the term. Sideshow should have called this a 1/6 Diorama/Accessory/Environment like they did with the Dewback and Taun Taun and other older SW releases. Han in Carbonite also shouldn't be called an action figure by SS.

Swappable parts for static poses does not make an action figure. As well as using materials like resin/polystone. Otherwise most of their 1/4 scale statues are action figures as well. I love my SS Star Wars 1/4 scale Premium Format Anakin Skywalker Acton figure. He has mixed media with great cloth clothes, a light up lightsaber and I can swap his head from regular eyes to sith eyes!! Best Action Figure I own....

:chase

I've decided this definitely isn't for me. Between the ridiculous price, the statue aspect, and especially since I have the original. But I still like looking at the pictures every one posts of this using this statue as an awesome center piece/diorama for everyone's SS or HT actual 1/6 action figures... So keep em coming!!

And enjoy your Jabba statue!! :)

I feel like this one is guaranteed to end up discounted, but there is always the worry that somehow it won't. With using reward points the price doesn't sting as bad
I highly doubt it'll end up discounted by much if at all. If anything they might offer free shipping on it. Like others have mentioned it probably is being produced in smaller batches where it won't sit around forever and they'll need to discount them to clear them out.

I remember a few years after the first SS Jabba was release my Collectable Store had a loose “Previously owned” Jabba on Dias for sale for $200. There was some damaged (i.e.. Smoke pipe broken, chips and scratches). I remember me asking the associate if they could open the display window so I could have a look at the Jabba. I remember I was so surprised at how light and hollow it was (cheap feeling) that I decided not to buy it. I haven’t regretted my decision till this day!! Its funny how I just couldn’t bring myself to drop $200 based on weight alone!!

This is no doubt a statue with swapouts like the Taun Taun they did. After buying I'm still convinced that this is the best format for doing Jabba the Hutt. I enjoy the swap out parts.

Perhaps Hot Toys will prove me wrong in the future. But I doubt that they will make Jabba and throne based on the massive size. I also feel that they would make him out of a rubber type material which may look nice initially but maybe prove to be problematic. Who knows where Hot Toys goes with Star Wars once all the tier 1 character variants have been made and how long they continue making high end Star Wars figures?
