Its ironic people keep pulling up Rocky as a measuring stone. Because a few years back when Stallone was trying to get Rocky Balboa into production, everyone was saying the same thing: he's too old, he's out of shape, its too late. Well, he proved us all (I will admit I didn't think it work either). With Ford, Spielberg, and Lucas behind it, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. They are going to go the Balboa route this time. If I am not mistaken, the time frame has been moved up to the Cold War and the old skool Russians are the "bad guys". They are going to show how Indy has aged and adapted to his aging. I think it will work. I doubt we will see 5 or 6, so its basically Indy's Balboa. Can't wait til it gets here.
P.S. Just because someone makes a movie hoping to make money doesn't mean it will be crap. 99.9% of our top 10 list of movies were made to make money.
P.S.S. While the plot was a little hackneyed, if you saw Ford in Firewall, I think that movie proved he is in good enough shape to do convincing action ... hell, if Connery can do it in The Rock at age 66 in 1996, no reason Ford can't do it at 65 here and now.
