Unboxing, review and showcase coming soon.

I am so pumped to film it.

Solidsnake I'm stoked you finally received yours! It's truly a great piece, and I know you'll appreciate it. Once you've played with it for a bit, maybe you could help me pick out a display stand? I've never owned a figure nice enough to need one before, and I'm not sure which kind would be suitable to pose (in mid air) such a heavy piece.

Update: Opening post has been edited with more review links, including SOLIDSNAKE's review of the figure.

My lightning base just came in the mail today from HLJ! Check out the pics below. It's a rather pricey display base at $30 (inclusive of shipping charges), but it adds a really nice touch to an already incredible figure. I chose a green base, for a few reasons - mainly, because Blade's Tekno-crystal is green in color. Also, all of Blade's energy attacks have a green color (including his Voltekka).

I haven't got to posing him with his voltekka canons, yet.

that lighting base is 100% WIN! Are you still toying with the idea of a custom tekno-crystal pattern on the base?

Hey guys just snagged myself one of those bases. Got it off ebay for $18 shipped (and that was to Canada!)

Looks like there is a few left, the auction is still up.

Oh man, cheap :horror! Congrats! Yeah, I'm still planning on making a crystal silhouette for the base. Not sure about how I'm going to do it yet, though, as I still need the materials. I'll probably just cut some hard construction paper, as that seems to be the easiest.

By the way, if you're still looking for a stand, you can connect a Gundam action stand to the Gundam Lightning base. The plus side is, that the action stand is completely transparent, so that the light from the base will still reflect without any problems!

Cool beans! Have you got any photos of the lighting/stand combo? I've never purchased a Gundam stand before, would it be strong enough for this guy? Can you point me in the direction of a cheap one?

Oh right... the weight of the figure is pretty heavy! Now I have my doubts if an action base would would work, since most Gundam figures are light as a feather, and made of plastic. HMMMM...

I remember a picture I saw a while back, when Pitu used two Medicom stands in conjunction to give his Snake figure a dynamic pose. That MIGHT work our Blade figures, provided that the smallest cup on the Medicom stand can contour the figure correctly.

super pumped to get my base.

Sweet, I didn't know you guys would be so excited about the base :lol. It really adds a special touch to the figure. Can't wait to see your showcase SOLIDSNAKE!!

Best Intro for Teknoman EVER

Alright, received my base yesterday and took a couple quick pics last night.

Ok so here is my verdict. I like the fact that the textured plate can be rotated. Makes it so you can have the beams of light going a specific direction in a way. I'm not a huge fan of the asymmetrical alignment of the lights. I kinda wish there were four lights, one at each of teh 90 degree points, but oh well. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10. I light it ok, but as of right now I'm going to display the piece without.

OH PS, the shots were taken through the glass of my display case.

Great pics! You're right, though. The base is nice, but it's definitely not perfect. But, in all honesty, I couldn't find another light-up base on the market, and this one just seemed to be the right size for the figure.

I think it would be cool if Blade had some reflective/glowing features built in (especially if he had a glowing feature in his Tekno Blasters, and eyes !! :monkey5).

Hope they decide to make a 10 " or 12" figure and do give him some light up features and a nice stand.
