Just starting Waller's Vader so I took a comparison pic:

I forgot what a pain in the *** it is to pull the boot pegs. I just need to do a few more things and I'll be done with Waller's. Helmet, gloves, futzing. He has the Tony Meis cape and tunic. They're pretty darn nice.

Son of a *****, I want a Hasbro dome :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

WTF? Considering how much work you did with the body, I thought you would have had a detolf full of them by now!
:panic:

They are. Really well finished and seamed, not just cut fabric. He really does make them beautifully.

Wow, those are completely different. I got your voicemail. I forgot to mention that tusk piece when I shipped it to you. I was surprised that it was a separate piece.

I love the work he did on the collar! I'm happy with Lance's but there is a pretty big upgrade in quality with Tony's.

It just tripped me out! I didn't even know that was a seperate piece!!

Anyway, I still need to do the dome and cut the gloves then futz it but I did swap the body last night and everything is looking great. I'm not sure if anyone else does this but I added a little padding to the shoulders of mine and now to yours as well and that seems to let the shoulder armor sit a little better. The cape looks to be a good length for the KP body too.... The only thing you could use, and I'll see if I have one, is a stand arm that doesn't stick out so far in the back like the SS's ones do. Do you plan on displaying it with a stand?

i put a thin piece of foam under both shoulders on mine as well. i think that was the very first mod i did on mine even before i lowered the helmet.

Longterm, it would probably be safest to have him on a stand. I would hate for him to fall over and have something break on his mask after all that work you're doing. Are the TT stands a good alternative?

I use stands just because we're in earthquake country here, but it's not as if I really like them. The arm of the TT waist grabing stands can be hidden better than the SS ones, and that's really what it's all about, IMO. Making the figure stable but hiding as much of the stand as possible.

Are the crotch stands good or are they harder to hide?

Kinda both. The ends will show under the crotch, but they're pretty good for figures that you don't want to be squeezed at the waist. I normally take the waist stand and bend it so it's more open, if that makes sense.

Okay, I feel I'm sounding like more of an idiot than normal so I just wanted to try to explain myself. :lol

You see how the metal portion of the stand goes up vertically then hits the point where it goes horizontally toward the figure? Well, with HT stands the grasping "C" arms begin to form that rounded shape as soon as the metal bends horizontally, which makes the vertical portion of the arm flush with the back of the figure when attached. The SS version has a space of half an inch or so, as you can see from the pic, between the vertical portion and the "C", so when this grasps the back of Vader his robes will be sticking out a good half an inch or more from his butt all the way down. It's not a big deal but why not eliminate any trace of the stand if possible, right?
