There you have it, more accurate kevlar connectors, in my opinion. I don't recommend doing this unless it's a detail that really bothers you. It's a lot of careful work. Hopefully someone will come up with an easier solution that doesn't involve either this much effort or DX02 parts.

There's still one more optional step to do, and it involves the gap that might exist now between the cape holes and the kevlar connectors. I'll get to this a bit later.

That is a bold and very impressive mod, congrats :clap

Kudos to all you guys and your extreme mods. I wish I had the skills for them. It shows that with a little more attention to detail Hot Toys could have made the ultimate Batman. Some recent pics of my modded Batman. Joker is just around the corner! Can't wait! These two will look great together. Right now he will stay in the Batcave with the Tumbler.

It´s the mouth of the DX12 or it´s a custom ?
Because I did not recognize...

That's the smirk (neutral) mouth that comes with the DX12. It has potential with the squint mod. Such a small thing that changes the dynamic of everything. Cowl, faceplate, and actually seeing Bale in the cowl.

thanks Zach! :clap probably said this before but I love your sig man! :rock

Thanks! and I sculpted both the top and bottom

I used Milliput 2part epoxy putty Standard yellow-grey mix. hardens overnight and is rock solid. you can sand it afterwards if you need to smooth things out. really good for sculpting onto something that you don't want to potentially ruin by baking

It's very "sticky" when you first mix it. so I kind of just caked it on there first until it started to dry up a bit after about 30mins-hour, then I started to actually sculpt the new lids taking away the excess. with this not being black epoxy, it was pretty tough to tell what was enough to be honest but from the response from you guys I guess it's safe to say it came out ok :lol

yea I had sanded them down when Mag posted about it, but it wasn't enough what I did before so I just completely chopped off the peg (it was getting in the way for me) and kept sanding until they all fit how I wanted then just glued the pegs back on. It was necessary for me to do this anyway b/c my stock pegs were shifted to the right so my mouth pieces didn't fit correctly in the first place

yea I really dig this faceplate the most now, even more than my medi plate.

And to answer your second question, no I didn't take out the PERS system. didn't want to risk damaging anything

Ok thx for the new ;)
Which material you took to rebuild eyelids ?

Straight from the source on pg 47. Stuff works amazing

This is wonderful thread. Thank you for all the tutorials.
I got the DX12 for Christmas and although it really look great, this thread has really put me in the frame of mind to revamp and improve my new batman.

I trimmed down the gloves and then superglued the elbow pads. I think it's a quick and easy change that makes a huge difference in the way this figure is represented.

:lol @ Maglor pulling a "DiFabio" forcing his opinions on other members.

If Gipetto thinks that the necks truly looks fine, either versions, then it is fine. It doesn't look bad to him, so it's not bad.

Just like how you're allowed to think Bale as Batman in TDKR isn't obnoxious, loud and goofy looking. He doesn't look or sound bad to you, so you're allowed to believe and think that it's good.

:monkey3

I plan to give a proper reply to Gipetto yet, but for now: I truly am not calling him a liar, and am fine with him having a different preference about the neck.

You have a lot of post to answer for young man. :nono

Did Gandalf and the 13 dwarves (especially that Santa looking ****er, Balin) bring you anything good for Christmas?

Hey guys, I have a question!

I have a spare DX12 body and spare parts coming to make a second Batman, but this time, I will customize it and leave my original stock.

So the question: I have all the part except the foot pegs. There's no way I'm gonna pay big bucks for a foot peg. I will make some custom ones. So I've seen pictures of them and was wondering what's that ring between the two balls of the peg? Is it rubber or foam?

Thx for your help!

Gonna start modding my DX12 and wanted to find out if using hot water to mold is better than a hair dryer? (the gauntlets)

Gonna start modding my DX12 and wanted to find out if using hot water to mold is better than a hair dryer? (the gauntlets)

- Hair dryer will work just fine, patient is the key

- Hot water is also great, but if you have to wait for the water to be hot, that can be time consuming and might make a mess with water everywhere..... I have a boiled water system, so the water is hot when I need them

- Heat gun is my favorite if choice. It has come in handy ever since I start, modding with the rubber like material. Also works great with plastic

Let us know your result when you are done :wink1:

Thank you so much guys for all the informative Mods.
I went from disliking this figure, to having it as one of my favorite.
Here's the mods that I've done.
Changed the faceplate to Robbie's faceplate. Personally, this is my biggest favorite mod as I hate all the stock face plates.
The changes to the cowl is night and day. Highly recommend this mod.

I painted the eyes, heated the shoulder plates and stuck them in the freezer, cut the gloves, widened the gauntlet, replaced the cape with Lforigno's, put electrical tape in between the neck/shoulder plates.

I also replaced the boots with the Batman Begins/Bruce Wayne Boots. I sprayed it with gloss since it was a little matted for my taste. The boots were a little loose so I stuck a very small foam at the calves to tighten the boots a bit so it'll hug the legs better, it fixed the 2nd biggest gripe on the figure. I tried doing the mods of putting electrical tape at the ankle, but no matter how I tried, personally, I wasnt happy with it. It also seem to give him a slight height adjustment, he looks like .5" taller and it makes the legs proportinate that the thighs doesnt bother me anymore.

I also did a mod, not to the figure but to my display by partially covering the LED lights in my detolf with a blue filter, it gives it the moody look.

Although I prefer the moded DX12 boots, your figure looks really nice Remy. :duff

About Robbie's face plate: I think I got a dud. Mine has a space all the way around it (I.e. it doesn't fit right) especially right under the nose. It bothers me enough that I can't use it. :(

Thank for the Compliment Mags and again, thanks for starting this informative thread.
The boot mod definitely is a huge improvement, but it was just mainly a personal issue for me as I dont like the shape of the boots.
And I dont know whether I was sticking too much electrical tape or not enough but I couldnt get the desired results.
Replacing the boots did the trick for me and I really like the look.

That really sucks about the faceplate, I'm sure Robbie will give you a new one. He's a really cool guy. I would definitely get another one though if I were you cause Its such a huge huge improvement. Almost look like we got a different cowl.
