Will Hot Toys do Prequel figures? Would you buy them?

I have zero interest in anything prequel-related, and one would have to assume that HT feels the same way. With The Force Awakens and now Rogue One offering up a host of new characters that appear to have resonated across pop culture generally, I'd imagine that prequel interest will be confined to hardcore fans. The OT vibe is the focus of the moment, and I'm not sure Disney/Lucasfilm would care to license anything that would undercut their forward, albeit vintage, focus. With a new SW film every year, HT will have its hands full catering to demand for new characters, and coordinating their releases to achieve maximum synergy with each new promotional cycle.

Besides the OT characters in TFA all the "new" characters are garbage. Lucas can't direct but he can create Characters. I'm in for Hot Toys Prequel figures. Yes I'll even buy a Pod Racer!!!!

After jinn, obi wan (padawan), darth maul, windu, and dooku I think I would be done. I actually like episode 1. I hate episode 2. I'm probably more forgiving with episode 3 now after rogue one. I don't think episode 1 is really bad, but the expectations were sky high, though I do admit it could be better (more maul, less whiny anakin, no pod race). I still think that film could be saved with a special edition treatment, but it could be worse too.

Not a PT fan at all, but I'd consider a 1/6 JarJar of all things. As much hate as he deservedly got (from me too) - he's like quite a few things in the PT for me... terrible character/story execution, but some very nice design. I still like JarJar's design - even Boss Nass I had display using the 12" Hasbro (which was a pretty nice fig.) I was a little bummed when I sold my 12" hasbro Watto. Some of these are awful onscreen but look pretty cool in the display cabinet.

So many things - like battle droids - could have been very cool if executed onscreen in the right way, but ended up totally goofy/stupid characters with very cool designs.

I would scoop up realistic looking character from the Clone Wars series. Ahsoka, Anakin, Obi Wan, Cad Bane, Maul with robo legs, Pre Viszla, Savage Opress, Mother Talzin, Aurra Sing etc etc etc.

Time flies! Cant believe it's been over 10 years since I first saw this Vancei custom on these boards but man was it ahead of its time.

Not really a fan of the hair but something on par with the headsculpt would be great. Back then I remember the price of a good Anakin custom circled around $1000 usd. Insane even for today.

Nonetheless, an Anakin on par with this is long overdue and certainly achievable by Hot Toys now.

There would have to be literally nothing else from the OT, Rogue One or VII or VIII in production for me to even consider pre-ordering anything prequel trilogy. It's the lowest on my priority list. So no. I don't think I would ever commit to buying a prequel Hot Toys 1/6th scale.

This is so true it hurts. The Droids being deployed from the MTT's on the battlefield was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen in a film. So many talented people worked so hard for so long to produce films that were turds at heart.

I'm not interested in the bland, cardboard main characters, even though that's all we will get if anything. What I want are the b-list scumbags. Now all I have to do is pray to the God of Lost Causes.
