I couldn't find a thread on this....

So what's the Difference between a Statue and Maquette?

Why does sideshow call some things Statues and other's Maquettes?

I like to think Premium Format Figures and LSFs are neither and something else.

But what's the difference between a Statue and Maquette?

Maquettes are from movies. They are often used as models and concept art in the development phase of a movie production.

THat doesn't make sense though the way sideshow is using it. For example why is this a Maquette and not a Statue?

Yea, it's retarded. The Thor, CA, and Black Widow statues of the actual actors and actresses are called PF. They should be called Maquette. However Iron man and Hulk from the movies are Maquettes. Who the **** knows anymore.
