1983: (excluding the '82 swivel arm updates) https://www.yojoe.com/action/83/

1988 or higher

85 all the way. Sure 82 started it all.. and 83/84 we great... but 85 is when I was fully involed in GIJOE and Heman and everything else took a back seat.

It stoped at 87.

Wow, that is hard choice.

I'd have to go with 1984 because Christmas I got everything that was offered that year.

I'll say 85 for figures, 84 & 86 for vehicles. 84-86 were my favorite years, I got everything that was released.

For me, it's always a debate between '84 and '85. Both have their share of great, memorable characters from the cartoon/comic. But in terms of figure execution I think '85 was the very peak of what was produced, so that one edges out '84 for me.

I can't imagine getting a whole year's worth of figures for Christmas. That would have blown my tiny child's mind. I do remember how psyched I was getting the Skystriker.

1985.

Best figure of all time: Snake Eyes w/Wolf

Best playset of all time: US Flagg

My favorite Cobra figures were a three way tie between Eels, Snow Serpents, and Crimson Guard. So yeah, 85 all the way.

1984 was awesome too.

It's a toss up of '82, '83, and '84 for me, but I had to go with '83, that was the first year they introduced the different environment specialists (Snow Job, Wetsuit) and Destro and Bludd...plus Doc, I needed someone to heal my injured Joes, too bad he didn't come with a bag o' thumbs.

And the vehicles: HISS, FANG, Battle Bear, S.N.A.K.E., Dragonfly, Skystriker, Wolverine...

83-84

Had everything by 84;CC, troopers, Destro, Baroness, Firefly, Bludd, Stormshadow, Zartan, Scrap Iron, and the core Joes from the first 25ish comics... everything after were just ups and downs. If those two years were erased, GI Joe would not be what it is today. My Joe fanhood was cemented by then, regardless of anything released later.

1984. Hooded Cobra Commander, Baroness, Storm Shadow, Firefly, Zartan, Scrap Iron, Wild Weasel.

Asp, Stinger, Rattler.

The only other time Cobra toys got that good was '83 Destro.

Joe fired on all cylinders '84-'86. A toy line never produced so many amazing toys as Joe did those three years.

'85 was a great year for Joes. What would have made that series perfect for me is if Low-Light had been included in the lineup.

'86, because I finally had my own cash to buy figures myself. Beachhead, Lowlight, General Hawk, Cobra Vipers and BATS.

'85 is a CLOSE second, only because of Ninja Snakes Eyes and Timber. I could not find that damn figure anywhere that year.
