No, not PBS, just not the complete porn aspect. Nudity does not bother me, just gratuitous nudity for the shock value.

Anyway, way to the topic. I need to pick up a Rivendell. Hard to find on ebay.

Can't ya just get it from Weta?

I am one of those...I would Ike to get one of the first four hundred. I do to have to have a number, such as the Galactus, but if there I an exclusive or numbered version, I prefer that one.

Now you are just showing off, haha :hi5:. Yes , I would like one of those, but I do not :monkey2

Maybe one day though.

Oh, I know it. I would love to see someone do a Feanor in his red confront Fingolfin in his blue.

Or Fingolfin vs Morgoth

Or a Glaurung

Morgoth with his iron crown of Simirils

Turin with the black sword

Huron with the great axe shouting " day will come again"

Tuor meeting Ulmo

Ah, the first age. If only HBO would do a series on it like they are with Game of Thrones. Without the certain HBO take on some things.

Hello everybody, this is my first post, although I am following the forum for quite some time now.

Great choices TD-0488! If only Christopher would reconsider the rights issue. Personally I would prefer The Silmarillion on the big screen. IMO three trilogies could do it justice if done correctly. Also I would love PJ on the helm.

Anyway, there is a lot of stuff in the films that connect to the bigger Middle Earth picture that have not been tackled yet. Regarding environments, that is the focus of this thread, I would love to see

Minas Morgul
Minas Tirith
Cirith Ungol
Mount Doom
Osgiliath
Black Gates
Grey Havens

IMO these are important Middle Earth places and I hope Weta does something with them, apparently in various scales and sizes.

Grey Havens for example could be similar to Rivendell in design and size. It would be awesome!!

Wouldn't it be cool if they tackled ALL of Hobbiton in an environment? Much like the small scale of Rivendell and Orthanc and Barad Dur...it would be so cool to have ALL of Hobbiton with the Green Dragon, Bag End, multiple smials, the Mill, the bridge, the lake/pond, and even the party tree...ALL in one large environment!!

Yeah but I could see them doing the hill first and seeing how far they could go out from there. The whole hobbiton no I don't see it unless the base was 3 ft long

I agree, imagine Rivendell but Hobbiton. Would love it.

That would be pretty cool.

Thanks Josh. I saw your collection the other day, very nice!

Thabks! I love Middle-earth and I think that comes through with my collection.

So I took the dive and bought this piece again, using some Weta dollars. Has anyone else bought one of these lately? Clearly there was a guy with the green paint having a bad day, very sloppy but only with green paint. Whole trees trunks and all, green. Bushes painted with green blobs disregarding where the bush starts and ends. I have to say this is disappointing.

So here are some pics of my replacement. Seems to me the guy with the green paint is still being heavy handed. In particular I don't know why the stone work is painted green. Does anyone else have this application?

On both of the recent ones that I have had everything green has looked awful. This is shoddy, the trees, bushes all look like they were painted by a child. I gueess it doesn't matter from afar.

So I had a closer look at mine and the bridge does have some green on it, so the statement that it's moss, is likely the intention. However, mine is much more faint and subtle, given a very light tint of green.

So yes, as you say, the green paint guy or girl got rather carried away.

What about all the chips on the left side of the bridge? Kind of looks like a repaired area

I am sure they will tell me this is a broken rock effect. Anyway thanks for the info everyone.

edit: just unpacked this to check and its just the way the piece was cast, its VERY small and you can't even really feel it when you rub your fingers across it. Opening this up again made me realize how blownup my images are. I do wish the green was a but more delicately applied but overall I guess I am happy.
