have yet to do the lit effect by streaking the reds with orange and highlighting with yellow!

Newbie question here... Do I need to disassemble all the body parts before painting? It's just that I'm afraid I won't be able to put it all back together. Haha...

No it is not necessary. The only parts that I actually removed for painting were Optimus' armblades. Well one of them, I couldn't get all the screws loose on the other

I'm sure there are people who do disassemble certain parts, but I managed to paint them all without any disassembly

You might want to try some tape over areas you don't want to get paint on though. Areas like certain car mode parts, windshields, stuff like that.
