just got the first triforce, two to go but imo this is not links best adventure, i very much prefered ocarina majoras mask and even twilight princess to this, it just feels like going to the same 3 lands over and over again , i know you sometimes unlock new areas, but i just dont like it, it doesnt feel like the old zelda games, that i played when i was a kid,i know heaps of ppl enjoy it, but this is just my opinion, and when you need to attack in a specific location the wii sensor just doesnt work, might just be me but the sword attacking when you need to do a specific swipe sucks, dont rip my head off ppl

I still don't have this game!:gah:
All my friends have been praising it as their favorite Zelda title too.
I'd better get off my @ss and finish off Skyrim (hahaha, yeah right) and Arkham City

Bumping this up from the depths.

So I actually quit playing this game a year ago and I dug it up to finish it. I just got the harp. Can anyone give me tips on how to play it? I can't get past the second use of the harp because it doesn't isn't reading it or something. Gaaaahhh!!!

Thanks for the bump. I forgot about this game too. Since I just picked up a Wii U I should probably get this. Do I need to go out and buy the Wii nunchuck and stuff to play this, or can I get buy with the Wii Remote?

I can't comment too specifically, because I didn't have too much of a problem with it, but use speedy movements without being to jerky, be smooth and pay attention to the beat to anticipate the movement. As silly as that sounds :lol

You'll need a Nun chuck attachment.

Okay, so playing the harp REALLY sucks and just doesn't work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but the only way I can get it to work is to sway my whole body back and forth like a drugged up psycho.

It's unbelievable how ridiculous this game is. First the sword fighting is exhausting. Then the character design and all of the treasures/items/ingredients/bugs are taxing. And now I am at the part where you

Spoiler Spoiler:

I actually said to a friend of mine that this game feels like it was made to kill the Zelda series. Why change it so much for the worse?

And again, the harp is just ****ing ridiculous. Did no one test this feature? It's like some reject idea from the Move/Kinect!!

I'm really not sure if I can convince myself to finish this game.

SS is one of the worst games in the series, yet for some reason gets passed off as the best. Dull characters, lazy backtracking, pointless 'collect-em-up' sections to 'prove' yourself as a hero to characters who you shouldn't need to prove it to....the story is okay but the whole thing feels really N64-esque. And it was released around the time of Skyrim, and I've always considered Skyrim a lot closer to what the original Zelda would be like if it was released now. The recycling of the Ocarina of Time linear structure is not good. Technology has moved forwards whilst Zelda hasn't, aside from gimmicky and not-always-functional motion controls.

It looks pretty nice though, and Link's design is pretty good. But STILL, so linear and repetitive.

This is probably one of the more polarizing LoZ's. It seems like it's just not meant for certain people. A lot of complaints I've heard about this game, I never had a problem with. Several people I know complained endlessly about the sword mechanics. I didn't have a single problem with it. It's strange how it works for some and not for others....I wonder if there is a faulty technology problem that hasn't come to the forefront yet.

I really liked the story and thought it was one of the more emotionally gripping narratives.

My only issue with the game was indeed the repeat visit to the three areas....that was a bit overdone. Especially the escort mission in the volcano.

I agree that SS is very polarizing. My biggest issue was how small the world felt, which was probably due to Skyloft being the hub of the world, making everything feel less than cohesive. The game was also so very easy. Most of the time, I beat a Zelda game and play it a second time to get 100% completion. For SS, I found everything without even trying so hard.

Also, the biggest disappointment for me was Fi. I LOVE her character design, and was really expecting something magical from her. But she ended up being more annoying and useless than Navi. AND HER DANCING! WHY!?!?!

(Sadly, I really loved Groose. He's so ridiculous)

Yes, I can see why Nintendo kept the OoT template for all their (important) console Zelda games, but it really is time to change up the forumula. They need to pull a Metroid Prime, giving the property to another company to start fresh and bring in new and innovative ideas.

And if Nintendo insists on keeping a "partner" character for Link to talk to in the next game, Why not make it Zelda? Have Link really keep an eye on her and let them develop a real relationship. And it would mix up the gameplay as well. Remember the Ganon fight in Wind Waker? I think it was probably the best Zelda boss fight because you had to work with Zelda to beat him. Imagine the ways the boss fights could be changed up - it could potentially remove the "hit the glowing target on the boss" tedium that currently plagues the series.

They kinda did the Link/Zelda team up in Spirit Tracks, but doing it again would be better than another generic guide character.

Infact, I wouldn't mind the home console Zelda having a top-down view like the DS games. It'd make a nice change.

Ahh, didn't know they did that. I couldnt finish Phantom Hourglass, so I didn't even bother with Spirit Tracks.

Speaking of Zelda games with horrible controls. Never made it a few hours in to that one.

I would LOVE to have an oldschool top down Zelda game on the WiiU. I doubt we'll ever see that though.

:lol poor Fi. I think she gets a bad rep because of her incessant tutorials. Get rid of that and I actually liked her character, she was funny and sincere.

I agree on the "too easy" bit. The basically held your hand in finding all the secrets. Twilight Princess was pretty easy too, but in battles only. Finding stuff still took a bit of exploring.

Groose is one of the best characters to come out of the series in years :lol

I believe there is talk of a multiplayer component in the newest WiiU Zelda game. So who knows, what you're asking for could potentially happen in a way.

Oh god, I don't want it to be multiplayer. I just want the partner to be more essential in the gameplay, rather than just being a voice telling Link to go from point A to point B or being a tutorial nag. Have the AI help in puzzles and battles, or have team up moves and techniques.

It took all my strength to finish that one. My least favorite LoZ game...I HATED the temple you had to constantly return too. Terrible.

Spirit Tracks has it too, but it's not as annoying.

I liked the DS Zeldas quite a lot. Never had a problem with controls or anything. The backtracking in PH sucked but it was otherwise a good game.
