Now don't get me wrong The Dark Knight Rises is lazy, hell even The Knight Rises would have been a better title but The Caped Crusader sounds far too cheesy for a Nolan flick...

The Caped Crusader sounds far too cheesy for a Nolan flick...

It really has an Adam West Batman feel to it, and I don't think any Batman film will ever want to be perceived as being like that show, though Schumacher's probably should have. They very often called Batman the Caped Crusader on that show. Granted, a large percentage of today's audience won't even know about that show, but still, there's a lighthearted feel to that name and it doesn't work with the darker tone of the modern Batman films.

Yeah I don't think of West when I hear "Caped Crusader". Just another name for Bats and kinda seemed like the next obvious step.

Even 'The Batman Rises' sounds better to me than 'The Dark Knight Rises'.... It's as if too much effort was put in to incorporate 'Dark Knight' into the title.

I still think Batman _____ would have been a better route, have the 1st and 3rd parts of the trilogy tied in their name. Begins clearly implies the origin of him, The Dark Knight works because it's about him but there's really no significant part of his evolution to spell out, and the 3rd part will likely have another defining moment, so return to Batman followed by a verb describing the story.

Maybe. I actually dont care what the title is at this point. It could be called "Twinkletoes McFiddleflufferbutt" and i'd see it in a heart beat. Sorry, but in Nolan I trust. D
