Bike is coming together nicely. Found that a Jeep headlight could be modified nicely to form the smaller yellow lens light. Also thought that SCUBA tanks might work for the rocket booster fuel tanks. Found that a pop rivet makes a pretty good valve/hose connector. Put some black heat shrink over some of those plastic/wire toy tie downs. They make really good pose able hoses. Got a Jeep rear view mirror on order to see if it will work on the bike. Did you repaint the entire bike? If not, whose paint is a close match to the olive drab of the original paint job?

Will post photos one this bear is complete.

Old Grandpa

I did repaint almost all of the bike, leaving some parts only
partially done to create a natural worn out look. Unless you
ride a bike, a lot of people dont realize that where ever your legs sit against the bike
or any part of your body, the paint wears off over time.

I just compared several cans of greens(at Lowes) until I got close
to the natural color. Knowing that some of the original color
would come through naturally when I dusted most of the bike,
I wanted the new paint to be just slightly darker. Then of course I
sealed it with a clear flat or matte finish to lock it in.

Good idea on the hoses. I wish I would have done that...:thud:

I used some painters tape to make the different thickness and
paint to bring out the differences on the metal ends.

I used the break lines from the New Ray bike as a base to create them,
so I still think they're a little bit small. But I'm okay with that, because
I think the ends turned out okay and made them look realistic.

First, Nice work. You have really put some time in this and it realy shows.
Kudos!

Second, I have to ask:
Okay, I know that I won't be in the majority, but I liked the Captain America movie.
Now I'm not talking about that complete embarrassment of a film staring Dolph in the 80's.
So bad it wasn't even called Captain America.
Ike.

What Dolph film in the 80's?
Dolph Lundgren starred as the Punisher in 1989 and Matt Salinger starred as Captain America in 1990.
I don't recall a Cap film [bad or otherwise] that wasn't called Captain America.

Yeah, I coundnt find it in his IMDB file either. But I do remember it
clear as day. Really low budget, terrible sets and acting and it was
Dolph. Maybe even a made for TV film. Most likely not a U.S. film.
Maybe he didnt take any billing on it.....I know I wouldn't...:lol

Before he goes, I'm taking some new pictures.
I did a repaint on the bike to make it more accurate.

more pics to come soon....

Check it out. Here's the final paint app to the bike.
Lots of little detail like clamps, screw & bolt heads, exhaust
and other things painted correctly to be more accurate.
