Thought this needed it's own thread. :yess::yess:

With Sony Pictures Entertainment now in production in New York on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, slated for release on May 2, 2014, the studio is planting its flag on two future release dates for one of the most successful franchises in studio history, it was announced today by Jeff Blake, Chairman, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures. The next two films in the story of Peter Parker will be released on June 10, 2016, and on May 4, 2018, respectively.

Wouldn't say they were unnecessary.(and are live threads with posts in them this one?) They are the topics of the moment, not something in 2016/2018! But hey he can do what he wants.

Sorry guys, i had the thread made before i realised it was already a topic of discussion in the ASM 2 thread. Sorry for the thread.

This feels like nothing more than a finger to Marvel Studios who has been playfully toking the fires of Sony selling the character back. If the sequel doesn't perform to their expectations and given the widely beloved Spider-Man 2 it has a bit of a challenge, these will go away no problem. I love Webb and Garfield with this franchise but I think this is a bit premature to get excited about.

Have they?

i've never read anything from Marvel Studios about wanting Spidey back.

From what i've read it's been 100% MS fans going on and on and on about it.

So if the next few Sony Spidey flicks fail, why even bother with another set from a different company?

Yea, more rebooting. Lets see Uncle Ben die another way!!

Sony is never letting spidey go Disney don't stand a chance.

:clap

To those who don't want Sony to have Spidey...
