Sideshow Lightsabers

Hey guys, I'm planning on making a hybrid figure of the new HT Luke sculpt and my old Sideshow figure, but I really want to change the color of my Sideshow saber; it's too light for my taste.

Is there anyway to perhaps dye the plastic or maybe water some paint and apply a light coat?

Any help would be awesome, thanks!

cant promise how it would look, but you could try Idye Poly. That **** colors everything.

Or acrylic paint mixed with gloss medium to keep it translucent.

Both will only tint the original color. You would need to have a clear rod as a start in order for the color to stay pure.

Or try Vallejo 70938 Transparent blue. I used transparent red on clear plastic and that works quite good.
