In my garage today I discovered the big beasty you see below.
The yellow sheet is a standard Post-It Note, which measures 3" square.
I drew the 1" square divisions on it to give an exact size reference.
It is a Wolf Spider I believe, and never in my life have I seen one even
half that size around where I live. They are very common in Michigan,
but usually are sized ranging from a dime to a quarter tops.
This one is definitely a MONSTER! Shelob, or at least a descendent.
We looked at him/her for a while, I took many pictures, and set it free
in the woods far behind my home, so as not to find the critter inside
the garage (or the house!) again. May it live long and well, far away.
