I certainly hope HT does not disappoint. I know that they rarely use their licenses to do an entire run of figures from a film or series, but, not saying this just as a fan, I truly think POTA should be an exception of sorts. At least to get a sampling of all three simian types.

For the next Hot Toys ape, I'd want a Dr. Zaius (Armageddon outfit) to go with my Ursus and backpack wearing Gorilla.

Added and updated. :hi5:

Jessica, do you plan on making Caesar's outfit? You would do a stellar job.

What ever happened to Angel? Does he still venture into the city? I wonder how his Lady Liberty project is fairing.

HEY!! Did anyone happen to get the POTA TV series soundtrack? Its gotten terribly high on the secondary market. I tried to download it thru those "share" sites and WOW!! what a f'n fiasco that was.
Anyone?

I'm working on it. WIll let you know if anything develops. :monkey3:monkey3:monkey3

Caesar is not the only one getting a makeover.

I have always hated the muzzle I made for this guy, so I cracked it off. I tried to recreate it with Apoxie, but I lack the control I need so I'm going to sculpt it with Super Sculpey and then just do a quick spot-cure since I am not supposed to bake Apoxie. Then I'll make a plastic cast of it and make it more permanent. When I have some more time, I'm going to fire up the DVDs and also get better images of him and try to sculpt him from scratch. I think I can do it.

IM--your ape heads are ready to ship out. I will mail them out tomorrow, since I can't make it to the post office today.

Thanks Jess!!

It seems thats my fault. I've been under a lot of stress, pressure and depression the last year or so. I let something he did aggravate me far more than I should have and pretty much **** all over him. I sent him an apology but have not heard back. I guess I can't really blame him.
I apologize to all of you as well as that tirade should not have been brought here and I am truly sorry for all that he does that we will all miss out on now.
I hope that someday he will forgive me, and even if he can't, that he might return to share with all of you whatever he creates.

This must have been what Zira saw when she and Cornelius had that picnic...

This is labeled as Cornelius, but to me it looks like Dr. Milo. I would love to see someone dressed like this at a convention.

VERY cool pics, Jess!!!! Me likey.

I take it that this last shot is photoshopped... or is it?

The last one looks so real, doesn't it? It's definitely Dr. Milo. I wish I had photoshop skillz...I would do lots of stuff like this.

That's sad news to hear IM, I had no idea on how far things went between the two of you. Hopefully time will heal the wounds. You were right to say "we all lost something."

Jessica, nice find on the pictures. I've been looking for some new outfits and I found a few at www.gentlemansemporium.com lol

Have a great day. More HT apes to come. :)
(crosses fingers.)

Hopefully.
As time moves on I realize, albeit too late in some cases, what I can and cannot afford to lose. I had never met Angel but surely considered him a friend.
As I sit waiting for the news of my sister's passing [the doctors say it could be anytime] I have been reflecting on a great many things. I've lost, and almost lost, so much over the last few years. Friendship is indeed fleeting but, as I sat the other day, I came to understand that I don't have so many friends that I can afford to lose one.

IM, I'm truly sorry to hear about the news regarding your Sister. May the good lord make it swift and painless. It must really be difficult for you at this time. You're still my buddy. :1-1:

Jose's friend, Paco, just identified the original photograph:
200pxikbrunelchains.jpg

It is the great engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel by the launching chains of the Great Eastern taken by Robert Howlett, 1857.

Have some more photos, some of which you may have seen before::

Here's that gorilla again!

You know what? Straight straws are impossible to drink out of when you are wearing the appliances. It's better to get the bendable straws.

Guys I am going to a small lunch this coming Saturday to meet with a bunch of friends I met through the MegoMuseum. Really looking forward to meeting Sandy Collera in person, as well as the rest of the Bay Area MegoMuseum gang. Someday I hope to meet up with some of you too, if you ever come to the Bay Area. A few weeks ago I met Dario, a longtime member of the apes discussion group when he came to visit San Francisco.

WOW!! I would kill to meet Sandy Collura. I was blown away by what I feel is the definitive celluloid Batman in Dead End. His World's Finest had me wanting more super heroes. Then to find out he was an apes fan!!
See if you can talk him into a classic style POTA fan film!!
And, if you can, ask him if he can make any of his custom ape head in 1:6. I emailed him a couple times but never heard back.
