Check out this amazing Marmit custom by Cryoguns. I really like the weathering on this one.

Hey everyone. My Santrooper suffered from the "questionable" mud on his groin region (as well as his shoes - watch your step when dismounting from your dewback) and some pretty spotty weathering everywhere else (his legs appeared to have obvious brush strokes, etc.), so I took some paint thinner and acrylic and this is the result:

It's not perfect, but I like the figure a whole lot more than I did when I first took it out of the package. I was hesitant to post these here with all of the awesome custom painters on this board, but there it is. Just for reference, here he is before I freed him...

Soooooo, has anyone in Europe got theirs yet? I don't receive the tracking info, so I never know when and if the SSC orders will arrive!

Like all the pictures here!

SS for the love please tell me when you plan on releasing armored figures(posable statues)!! just give me the year, that's all i ask!!

I think you did a great job. It looks a lot more now like mud splatter instead of you know what! :monkey1

Excellent work silentman116 - it looks better than the factory weathering job.

As cool as the Medicom Sandtrooper is, the custom Marmits still look more accurate to me and I am always impressed with their ability to be customized.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I think I prefer the look of the Marmit Sandtrooper as well, especially the ANH-styled helmet. Sadly I don't own one and must rely on pictures... :monkey2

Silentman, your customization looks great!
Thanks for all the pics guys, my Sandtrooper is already waiting for me back at home, another reason to get back from this business trip fast!

Thanks for answering that question as well. That being the case, I went ahead and pre-ordered from them another for customization. I'm going to give him the same paint thinner treatment as well.

So we would get it about the same price as sideshow? $149 + shipping? I think shipping to me would be $15. Anyone buy the sideshow figure who lives on the east side of the country, how much was shipping?

Well the Sandtrooper has reached the UK. I really love this figure. Hope we get the white and black paludron versions:

Bring on Boba Fett!!!!!

I received my Sandtrooper about two or three days ago, and what can I say? It's fantastic! A proper ANH helmet would have been nice, and an extra belt pouch attached to the left shoulder pad (like most of these Sandtrooper Sergeant's have in the movie), but I'm absolutely happy with this Sandtrooper. Even the weathering I think is nicely done. But, he is over priced: $150 is to steep.
