You guys are all LUCKY!!! a few years ago these mini sabers were freakin hot commodities and people would never pay less than $45 for a mini. Some would go for a couple hundred bucks. Nowdays you can get any one of the minis for dirt cheap.

Luckily I got out of the minis just in time before the prices on them all fell. Traded 8 of my minis for a 1:1 Obi Weathered ANH LE and that was my very first 1:1. That's all ive collected ever since.

Well, I got the ANH Luke, Obi and ESB Vader and the stand/case for $60. The ROTS set looks cool but as I was looking around the site those OT ones really seemed more my calling (and at $15 each that was the kicker.) I will be honest I never really saw the attraction of sabers but looking at these pictures and the detail I really can see why they are popular now.

Its like the stock market. It really is all about the timing.

I might get the Vader but really ROTS is my fave of all the SW movies.

I like the 1:1's personally. I have never felt the need to try the minis because the full scale are just perfect. Try one if you want to become an addict. I have the Luke signature V2 coming later this year- can't wait! :rock

I didnt get on the Luke V2 SE preorder. I figure I can pick up the LE later on for hopefully clearance prices. I already have the ANH SE and one sig of Hamil is enough for me hehe. But the Luke V2 is going to be an awesome saber....that is if MR doesnt screw things up like they usually do.

I hope the minis are good enough for me... I don't have the $ to get the "real" ones.

This will be my first Hamill signature so I had to go for it. I love this version of Luke's saber too- it's definitive for me. Hopefully MR doesn't screw this up somehow. *bites nails nervously*

the minis are good enough as long as you don't buy your first 1:1. After that, the minis will seem a bit insignificant next to owning the real deal.

I just have the single 1:1 saber ...

I've been collecting the mini's from the start. Love them. They don't take alot of space and look great. I often display them next to their sideshow 1/6 figure. Makes for a very nice display.

Here is a shot of Boba next to his mini blaster.

How do they usually screw things up? I was thinking about ordering a V2, but I hate to spend that much money on something that may not be as good as I'm hoping.

many many ways.....

The Millenium falcon had a typo on the plaques. Instead of "Cannon", they printed it as "Canon".

The Shock Trooper and Spec Ops helmets, they claim to have "lost" most of the limited edition plaques....so majority of the helmets were recalled and from that point on no numbered plaques were issued with the helmets, only ones with the total edition size for example "Limited Edition of 750 Worldwide".

The ObiWan TPM Elite Editions suffered from major QC issues. Lots of people had excess glue residue all over their sabers, and some shoddy construction where parts were loose, broken, or damaged.

The Vader Helmets were shipped out with crappy QC as well, a lot of them had scuff marks in the dome and badly painted around the eye lenses and mouth area.

All of the ROTS sabers don't come with the standard type of plaque which has both the number and total edition size on it. After customers complained MR started issuing second plaques for free which has the total edition size on it. This is why you see the ROTS sabers being displayed with two plaques sometimes.

The Dooku sabers had problems with the rubber grips peeling off after awhile. The glue that MR used must not have been good for long term. A lot of the sabers have grips that are falling off or have fallen off completely.

Just some things off the top of my head

I also think the Dooku sabers have a problem with the back part being loose.

I don't mind so much about the plaques and the edition stuff, but parts coming off is not cool. Maybe I'll wait and hope some are still available when it comes out and get it after I find out if people are having trouble with it. Of course long term is hard to tell...

Thanks for the info

Really wish they where 1:6 instead of .45. Would be great to have highly detailed lightsabres for 1:6 figures.

Short of being real metal, I don't think you could ask for more detailed than what Sideshow puts out with their figures.

The real metal is nice... and Sideshow hasn't made every lightsabre wielder under the sun ;)
