The Pledge: 8/10

Really got into this a lot more than I did the first time I watched it on release. Maybe it's effect on me was enhanced by his long absence from the big screen, but Nicholson's performance was fantastic. That ending, with him being right about 'the wizard' all along, but nobody..including him..ever going to know he was right about 'the wizard' all along, resulting in him being left all alone, mumbling and ranting to himself after being driven out of his mind, was quite affecting in it's bleakness.

The Conjuring 2 - 8/10

Pleasantly surprised. Liked it far better than the first one.

Carlito's Way - 8.5/10

Pacino's wig - 6/10

His shoe lifts - 4/10

Ghostbusters (2016) - 2/10

Not a fanboy of the original in any way, nor do I have a problem with an all female main cast. The film was siimply terrible. How it got made with such an awful script is beyond me... A few half smiles for nostalgia and some pretty effects lifts from the true zero of a movie this turned out to be. Avoid.

Fury Road: 7/10
2nd viewing. Still not that impressed by it. I think the movie is good, but I just don’t think it ever rises to a level of greatness. I gave it another spin since it gets such appraisal. I thought maybe the first time I watched it maybe I didn’t give it a proper chance, especially since my expectations must have been high. But no, it’s pretty much the same experience the second time around. Still good, but not great.

The Bay - 7/10 Wow, now this is a creepy ass found footage movie.
Yes! It's too bad this one flew under the radar. This movie really surprised me, watching it without knowing a thing about it beforehand.
The studio can easily create a sequel to this story as this movie felt like the foundation to something bigger.
7.5/10

I was surprised by this as well. I typically don't think much of horror sequels because most of them blow. Most sequels just repeat the same jumps and scare techniques from the first so I label them as being "simply more of the same thing". Not this movie. James Wan deliberately went out of his way to ensure he didn't repeat the same things from the first installment. He did a great job in that regard.
8/10 as well.

I enjoyed the action and the visuals, but yeah the story was just so so. And what's up with the Max character grunting so much? :lol

I could see that happening, after all these are cheap to make and are so very poorly done most of the time, but I have faith in this genre.

Watching it in a conspiracy theory mindset is best, this a very good outbreak (not zombies) movie.

RECLUSION. A supense/horror with no scare or horror a -10 pure garbage.

MY BLIND BROTHER. Nick Kroll and Adam Scott. Adam plays the blind bro and Nick his regular brother helps him do marathon's to raise money for blind. The best part is the blind friend who smokes weed with the unblind brother lol. Its a o.k comedy give a 4.

Batman unlimited Mech vs Mutants. The best description for this is think Pacific rim movie meets batman vs his enemys in giant mech mode give a 3 pretty cartoony.

The Revenant - Beautifully photographed historical wankery that's more engrossing than it should be....for a while.

The Shallows - Beautifully photographed silliness with a star-making turn by Blake Lively's butt. Sometimes there's a cartoon shark, too.

Intruder - 8.5 The only thing missing from this slasher is some nudity.

The 5th Wave - 4/10

Mediocre Alien Invasion film with almost no aliens. Guessed "shocking" twist about 30 minutes in.

It's been done before much better than this. Don't bother.

A 4 is a pretty generous rating.
