Is it a recast? I compared it to Asmus and Dark toys and didn't think they were the same mold. Wasn't able to find any others. Or do you think it's of a custom?

I’d PO’d this the second I saw it a few weeks ago. Great price, nostalgic movie, eye-catchingly unique character. Can’t say no to that sort of bargain.
Probably gonna stick it next to my Asmus Ash Williams when that comes.

Ahh, so it is a recast. I guess I'll rephrase and say it's the best mass produced head sculpt of any Mask figure up to this point. Shame. This is one of the first movies I remember watching as a child so I'll have to get this. Hope they can maintain the quality in the release.

The problem, as it always is, is that you are looking at the custom, not the figure you will receive. You look at it and say "wow, that looks great" because it's a $1,000 custom figure. What you get will be a $160 figure. Making any sort of claim about how good it is, is silly.

If I stole your book report and made a copy of it, would you comment on how crisp the copy was? "Wow, you're really good at pressing the Copy button on that copy machine" ... no, that would be silly.

Oh I totally understand the bait and switch and would try and see reviews before buying it. Knowing that it's a recast, my next step would be seeing how well this company does with recasts. As far as I've seen, their solicitation pics line up pretty well with their released products, based on reviews. I'm hoping that trend continues.

Guess present toys got tired of the backlog as well. Seeing this in stock with some eBay sellers and got a gianttoys invoice. Should be shipping soon. Found some final product pics.

Niiice. This is dropping only slightly later than expected which is fantastic by modern standards. Can’t say I see any glaring issues in those pics either.

You should have fairly low expectations for this sort of thing and it’s exceeded mine from the looks of it.

Oddly enough, I think this guy belongs near my Banderas Zorro as they’re both childhood faves.

I kind of regret not grabbing that Zorro. Also a childhood fav but I talked myself out of it cause the HS wasn't as good as the proto to my eye. How do you like it? I'm very hyped to get this in hand. Will go on my 90s-00 shelf along with Captain Jack, Tyler Durden.

Not sure where those final product shots are from, I'm guessing a chinese social media post. I found those on an eBay listing and there are more but I haven't been able to find a source. Just this really blurry short with terrible music (watch muted)

Thanks for the heads-up with that video. The warping zoom cuts were bad enough. Paired with that music at full blast would have been too much of an assault on the senses.

I definitely don’t regret getting Zorro. He was probably $50 overpriced- but that seems standard for Blitzway. The sculpt did soften up in production but Blitzway shot themselves in the foot by photographing the proto so well with moody lightly. That enhanced an already superior head to the point where the production piece could never hope to live up to it.
Gotta have him for the nostalgia though. Although, that first movie totally still holds up. Timeless classic for me.

Wow, that might be one of the best pictures of that figure I've seen kudos. Agreed on Blitzway proto being set against the actual product. Although I loved the Zorro movies, my nostalgia for it wasn't strong enough to spend the extra cash. In retrospect looking at the after market I should have gone for it. They did re release the Fight Club 2 pack so maybe they'll do this one too.

Mine just shipped today from Giantoys. Will post pics once it arrives. Looks great in hand, although I do think it's a recast of the CultKing.
