Yeah. I collect books and toys as well; so even on occasions where money isn't so much an obstacle, limited space definitely helps keep my spending habits in check for these bigger pieces.

There's an expensive learning curve when it comes to collecting.... Just trying to figure out what you want is tough... sure you want everything but unless you live in a museum you find out quickly that doesn't work, then there's the size thing.. 1/4? 1/6? 1/3? Pre-Ordering and NRD's.... hell I've probably given SS several hundred dollars just in NRD's the last several years.

True. Especially the museum part

Studio flat means I have to keep my purchases to the bare minimum certainly no room for a museum.

I just started collecting these PF statues in December and already have three of them with 2 more on preorder. It's difficult because there are so many of them that I'd like to have but I can see how space will become an issue quickly. I am also thinking "if they come out with this" and "if they come out with that" then there may be future must-buys down the road (for example I'm really hoping they come out with a book-based Flash PF), which makes things even more difficult to decide what to get. I thought I was just going to stick with DC, but when I saw that Dark Phoenix PF I just had to have it, so now my original plan is blown.

Well after a year of basically being on the waiting list and she converted. Exclusive #531 has arrived and all I can say is flawless. What an amazing piece...I had nothing but problems with Wonder Woman, Green Ivy, and Sinestro I couldn't help but be worried but WOW this statue is amazing in person. I think she looks better in person than in the pictures that have on their site! A+ on this one SS.

So I got my exclusive in today and I honestly think this statue is getting way too much praise. Before I start and everyone gets bent out of shape I do think it's a good looking statue but at the price we pay it deserves some nitpicking and I don't think this statue is a home run. In every statue I have seen including mine the right eye seems to be looking left but the left eye is straight. Even in the website pictures. Now you can only really notice this if you stare at the eyes for a minute. The hair could have been more detailed but it's not bad. The base is well done if you're at a distance or in HD photos but if you feel it or look real close it honestly doesn't look much better than a mattel toy base made of cheap plastic, polystone, pvc, bla, bla point is it looks like a walmart toy base not a $400 statue base. Now the one I have the most problems with that I can't believe nobody has mentioned yet is the cape. This is a horrible design. If the cape isn't on she has a huge hole in her chest. If it is on the cape button, snap, or whatever you want to call it doesn't even go in the hole all the way so it's sticking out of her like a damn faucet or lawn sprinkler or something. What an awful design. All that being said I do like this statue and put together, under led lights, in a showcase where she belongs it looks great. I just felt like nobody had put it under the microscope yet and that's one of the great things about this forum you can go and see what people think before you buy. If I hadn't already preordered it and looked on this thread I would have been like damn this must be the best statue Sideshow has done in years but I think that's simply not the case and thought it should be posted.

I can't believe I forgot to mention the EX head. This is all I can think of when I look at it. :slap

Then return it :huh going on some diatribe about it isn't changing anyone's mind

It might. Guy's just trying to help. If I were thinking about buying this statue, I'd appreciate all opinions. Wouldn't call it a diatribe....

I got the regular, but if the guy wants to return it, I'll take that EXC off his hands for exactly what he paid SS for it with the shipping. You can't feel offended when somebody posts something like that cause that's just his opinion. To me this is 1 of SS's best, but to some, they feel it should be more than what they expected. In this world if we all thought the same, it would be very boring.

I just wanted to give an honest review of what I think are the statues faults so people weren't surprised by them when they received it. I didn't think my review was forceful or bitter at all. Just my honest opinion. If you're spending this kind of money on a statue you should know about any imperfections before buying it. I have no desire to return it and I think anyone that buys it will probably be happy with it but it's not without faults. As I said put together, in a showcase, under led lights, where mine is, I think she's beautiful.

Both negative and positive feedback are welcome in my eyes! People just get their panties in a bunch sometimes when someone gives a negative review about something they spent $400 on.
