Yeah, after Hardy's reduction Bradys should be reduced to a half.
I have a feeling it's going down to none or one. If it was 2 or more they would have announced it already. I think they are waiting for a good day to drop the news when people won't be as aware of it happening.
It should be 0, Brady that is.

Hardy's 4 games is on a different plane of reasoning than Brady. Brady cheated the game much like Pete Rose cheated baseball and he was punished as such. Cheating the game, and making the game look bad by off the field issues is completely separate things. One affects the actual outcome of games, the other just affects the popularity of the sport which is horse doo doo because you know everyone's still gonna watch regardless if hardy's on the team or not. You could just root for the other team that the cowboys play against.
Ok so we take Rose and Brady the same. There was a written rule for both situations. Rose got what was written. Brady didn't. There is a rule about tampering with the balls and its some nothing fine. That doesn't even take into fact that Rose was proven to have bet on baseball and Brady all they could could come up was more than likely. Not to mention other teams caught cheating got hand slaps.
Even then you can't reasonably look at the fact that Brady may have been involved in the deflating of balls and say he should have the same penalty to what Hardy got. Just read the Hardy criminal complaint. Sure he was able to buy his was out a conviction by a jury after an initial convection but if there is even just a little truth to criminal complaint he deserves much worse than someone who may have been involved in deflating some balls.
It wouldn't have mattered that game anyway...

So if police can get a print out of a criminal's (or suspected) text messages from the phone company....why couldn't the NFL? Lack of warrant?

Well yes they have ZERO legal justification to do so. They are not law enforcement, they can't get a warrant and any attempt to do so would leave them extremely vulnerable legally. Even then Law Enforcement are not always able to do so.

I'm guessing they think one deals with the "integrity" of the game so its a little different than a criminal act. If people start to think the games are fixed they lose a TON of money... the criminal acts don't seem to effect them much in the bank account.

Yep and most carriers only store the actual message from like 2-5 days and then it is destroyed. The will store when the message was sent and to whom but they won't store the actually message for very long.
