Re: NEW [ACI TOYS] 1/6 "TOTAL ROME" Roman Legionary & Optio (3Ver) All official Pict

That's really the only thing I fault on this line.
Different head sculpts should have been the way to go.

Bryan
For $200 per figure you should be able to come up with different head sculpts - these are supposed to be limited editions not the same figure with different clothes slapped on like a $20 Barbie doll.

As apposed to Hot Toys just slapping in a hologram or empty cowls?

When has any company made a new headscupt for the exclusive versions?

Sideshow's GI Joe line. :wave

Anything esle?

jgbeas gives the impression that a second head is the norm in exclusives and I am wondering where that idea comes from.
Aside from Sideshow's GI Joe line, I don't see many others doing alternative heads for exclusives.

Not sure why ACI deserves such harsh judgement on exclusives when others don't include extra heads.

Re: NEW [ACI TOYS] 1/6 "TOTAL ROME" Roman Legionary & Optio (3Ver) All official Pict

Please don't misunderstand my intent, and please correct me if I am wrong, as I am a big supporter of ACI and have each of their Roman releases in my collection - it appears to me that there are three new figures being released, one legionary and two optios, which I'm sure many people will purchase all three if possible. My concern was that it appears to me that each of the three different figures has exactly the same head sculpt, which if so makes them look very similar when displayed in a collection. Thus my comment about the same body with three different uniforms.

A further comment that I forgot to add - certainly wasn't implying that the figure should have two heads included, only that each figure has a separate and distinct head sculpt. Again if I am wrong and these new figures has a distinct head sculpt I apologize both to the forum participants and to Bryan.

Re: NEW [ACI TOYS] 1/6 "TOTAL ROME" Roman Legionary & Optio (3Ver) All official Pict

These are more of a variant of the same figure, so it's not surprising that they share the same head sculpt. The only difference between them is the Optios have a crest and all have different coloring.

It would be nice if they would include different head sculpts for each release, but I'm not expecting it.

Re: NEW [ACI TOYS] 1/6 "TOTAL ROME" Roman Legionary & Optio (3Ver) All official Pict

I think it's safe to say that we would all like to get extra heads with any exclusive version of any figure from any company.

It just sounded like we were getting short changed sepcifically by ACI only on xclusives and we are not.
Extra heads is the exception rather than a rule from what I have seen.

Re: NEW [ACI TOYS] 1/6 "TOTAL ROME" Roman Legionary & Optio (3Ver) All official Pict

I think the legionary should have different head sculpt to the Optios.

Dear all,
Luckily I could read this before I sleep! I was really thinking to do something regarding the discussion. And you guys are all generous and considerate. Yes, it's a bit difficult for us to inlcude 2 heads or a different heads for a variant version because the total qty of our current products are quite small. Honestly, it should be only 1/20 or 1/50 of a regular release of Hot Toys worldwidely. We cannot support 2 different heads for only a few hundred of production and it would make the final price unaffordable.
And, the intention of different version is hopefully to increase the choice and interests of customers and in return, to raise the sales with a comparative lower cost.
I hope it's upto different choice of customers where they can buy 1 or 3 depends on their own plan. Certainly, more of them I hope.
Thanks again for valuable discussion!
Bryan

Cool, thanks for taking the time to answer!

After all, there's plenty of relatively inexpensive head sculpts out there.

I think you missed his point. It wasn't "extra heads," he's asking for different heads with each release so it doesn't look like the same guy standing next to himself in different armor on the shelf.

I got his point. My argument still stands. These are exclusive variants not different figures.

Jesus Christ, that's some fine craftsmanship.

Re: NEW [ACI TOYS] 1/6 "TOTAL ROME" Roman Legionary & Optio (3Ver) Armour &W Update

Is it too late to remove these two 'rivets'
Seriously, 2 rivets? The workmanship is amazing & I am sure they have done their research but you find fault in 2 rivets... I totally understand the head issues, even if its 2 different heads not an extra head it would drastically push up production costs.

Sorry, the picture could cause confusion as it's only 1 of the many references pictures we used in the process.
Hope this one can answer! In the process, we could find many different versions and minor variants. So, we decided and chose the one as the final appearance of our Lorica segmentata armour.
But there's numerous possibilities could be found or not found in historical studies and Archaeological case. I guess it's too hard to prove some variants didn't exist in reality where very limited information and historical facts we could be gethered. Comparing to the real life ancient world, the facts and proof we could gathered and proven nowadays is very insignificant. Even the cases in WWII which was just 70 years before, many objects and issues are still not 100% accurate and reliable.
This is the very subjective and elementary level of my knowledge and view towards historical facts and items.
However, it's always very glad and exciting to chat with you enthusiasts and specialists in the forums. Everytime I learn a lot and make new friend!:hi5:
Best regards,
Bryan
