Not exactly an action figure and Dunno if anyone has seen this but greenlight are releasing a 1/18th scale replica of the family truckster seen in national lampoons vacation. Only problem i see with it is the doors don't open and seem like its one solid piece. The car itself is based on a ford ltd country squire station wagon with some modifications including the bodywork and dual headlights.

I'm sure by the time it's done, the doors will open. Greenlight does a decent job with correct style door and hood hinges on some of their cars. I've been collecting die cast for years and enjoyed Ertl's Joyride collection. Joyride focused on movie and TV cars. They're also doing the entire F&F line and Kill Bill. In my collection right now I have: (and these are just the Hollywood cars)
K.I.T.T. (had K.A.R.R. but sold it - couldn't resist the price at the time)
Starsky & Hutch Torino
Monkeemobile
Munster Koach
Dragula
The Car (from the movie The Car)
The Phantasm 'Cuda
Bullitt Mustang
Assassin's Charger
General Lee
Eleanor Mustang (Original Gone in 60 Seconds by H.B. Halicki)
Eleanor Mustang (Gone in 60 Seconds w/Nicholas Cage)
Vanishing Point Dodge Challenger
1966 Batmobile
1989 Batmobile
Pharaoh's '51 Merc (American Graffiti)
Bloander's '58 Impala (American Graffiti)
Milner's '32 Deuce Coupe (American Graffiti)
Bob Falfa's '55 Chevy (American Graffiti)
There might be a couple I'm forgetting. I do plan on picky up the Family Truckster, Elle's Firebird from Kill Bill, as well as the Pussywagon when they release.

Greenlight usually hits most toy stores and hobby shops. There are also several good retailers who sell on ebay. Just have to wait until it's released.

I'm rather ignorant to the 1/18th scale stuff, can someone enlighten me on the size of this thing? (My google searches said cars are roughly 11" long?)

It's a must get for me. And is there a pre-order somewhere?

Yes one eighteeth is roughly 11 inches to 12 inches long. If i could describe 1/18th scale i'd say its like a size 11 or 12 shoe. Its the perfect scale in my opinion. The only better scale for me is 1/6th but you don't get many vehicles in 1/6th so 1/18th is the next best thing imo. Some sites do preorders but imo theres no need too as there will be plenty available on ebay once the vehicle is sold.
