Just got the 3po and R2 and they are okay, figuarts will be better....3po came in a million pieces in the box but popped back together and he feels fragile...they look cool though

Finally got them in, honestly I'm disappointed, they feel cheap 3po falls apart easily. It's just a miss in my book.

Hearing that the droids fall apart worries me. I hope this isn't the case with the BVS figures and future Star Wars stuff.

I don't like the look of Threepio at all in that pic, his torso and pelvis look way too skinny. I also think the panel lines on Artoo are way overdone. They could and should have been great, but they're just not. So far there seem to have been many more consistently good figures in the Figuarts line than there have Mafex.

Just watched the Fwoosh review, I'm somewhat torn. They look very screen-accurate to my eyes, slightly more so than the Figuarts prototypes - but Threepio falling apart so easily is a pretty poor show on Medicom's part. Then again, Figuarts don't have a great track record with metallised finishes - their Metal Hero figures had a nasty propensity to flake and chip.

I'm seriously considering taking a roll of the dice, the paint and finishing are a clear step up from previous Mafex releases.

I actually have a set on the way, but I originally bought it mainly for the R2. As we all know, MAFEX is hit or miss. The reviews aren't blowing me away; so I'm up in the air on whether I'll keep it or gamble and wait for SHF to (maybe) release the pair in a year or four.

My thoughts exactly. My set is taking forever to get here, so all of this bad news has really taken the wind out of sails. I'm thinking I'll adjust the torso on 3PO, attempt to tighten the joints, pose him in my favorite way, and try not to ever touch him again lol. R2 looks so amazing, would still make it worth it for me.

I'll also get the Figuarts when they release, though. I'm more than ok having multiples of the coolest droids in the galaxy.

Finally got my time to take some more pictures of Vader and put in my first lightsaber effects attempt with photoshop. Any input on the lightsabers to make it better?

I have the set and they certainly do the job...... That job being a placeholder until Figuarts finally release theirs!

Mmm, no, no suggestions spring to mind, it looks like a really great effect to me.

So we're nearing the end of July... Any official release date yet for the Mafex Fett? Everywhere I look still has him for a July release...

So I know this mafex C-3PO 2Pack hasn't received Stellar reviews, mine arrived today and like the reviews thus far have said the R2D2 is possibly the best figure of this little Droid made so far it's simply perfect. The C-3PO has many flaws to me the two most glaring is the Torso section which is too tall but more than anything it's the eyes which without being painted bright orange look like he's in deactivation mode. However after a quick black wash iand a Coating of clear acrylic to tighten up the joints and give them a shine he actually looks pretty darn good and is still the best 6 inch scale C-3PO we've seen to date.

On the official Mafex page Boba now says 9/2016. The Mafex FO Trooper still says 8/2016. Hopefully there are no further delays. I hope it will be available before HLJ's 60 days are up for combined shipping with ANH Luke.

Threepio's waist is too slim and stretched.

The problem with the tall waist is the ball joint in the lower torso is too tall. Instead of just being a ball it's a ball on top of a short peg. All you have to do to modify it is cut that ball and peg out and re glue just the ball to where the peg was.
That lowers the abdomen just enough for it to be accurate and correct..... it's actually a real simple process here's the results.

I seriously think it was purposely done to fit the stand it comes with
Now you can see from the side pic I posted, the top and bottom almost touch with just a touch of the black separating them.
Originally it was so far apart to fit the stand
