Nothing is for certain. I don't really even understand if this means Super7 is continuing MOTUC or just making MOTU products like they have been? Or something different? Guess we'll find out this weekend?

I had a feeling Super7 was taking over since they went through the trouble to make a brand new episode of MOTU.

Hello Matty Collectors!

This is Brian Flynn, owner of Super7, and I just wanted to say how excited we are to expand our relationship with Mattel and Masters of the Universe this year and beyond! We’re looking forward to creating a wonderful array of exciting and unexpected Masters of the Universe products in the years to come.

As some of you may know, we’ve been working with Mattel for a few years now, creating both the retro 3.75” MOTU figures, the M.U.S.C.L.E. MOTU figures, and last year’s SDCC 2015 Skeletor’s Lair special event. Since then, we’ve announced wave 2 of the 3.75” figures, and wave 2 of the M.U.S.C.L.E. figures, which will debut at SDCC 2016.

Speaking of SDCC 2016, our biggest announcement was that while all this was going on, we’ve been working secretly on the first new Masters of the Universe animation in the classic style since 1985 – “The Curse of the Three Terrors”! In trying to be as authentic to the original series as possible, this new animation features original voice actor Alan Oppenheimer reprising his signature role as Skeletor (as well as Mer-Man and Man At Arms) on a new adventure in Eternia. Additionally, we worked with The Power and Honor Foundation to use original backgrounds from the 1984-1985 series, so this new animation is as accurate as possible. We will premiere the “The Curse of the Three Terrors” at 10pm on Wednesday July 20th, at the corner of 8th Ave. and G in downtown San Diego, directly across the street from this year’s Skeletor’s Lair pop-up shop! Afterwards, “The Curse of the Three Terrors” will be available August 1st for download on iTunes and Google Play for $1.99.

As for new and exciting products, I wonder what other secrets we might have up our sleeves for all of you…?

Wow... so the Super 7 Mark Taylor sketchbook was a big fiasco!
I was probably at spot 80 in the line and when I got in they said it was already sold out...
Really?
So much for the P&H Foundation to get stuff to the "fans"
The worst part is even though they said it was sold out, I saw somebody in the backroom sneaking out copies to certain "high profile" people...
I'm thinking several were already given to people before the store even opened... Whatever...

Anyway, the whole MattyCollector mess is quite sad too... not sure what would happen as there's no official news of the future of ThunderCats either...

I just glad they are selling out so fast. I was hoping and kind of knew they would but there was a worry that is was so niche, it would not be a big demand item.

I am very curious about Super 7 plans and like you say Jon Wes, is that them totally taking over the action figures too or just their own items?!

Any MOTUC at all at the Mattel booth? Snake Mountain?

Thundercats is done! They have several Filmation sculpts ready. 4 Horsemen continues doing the sculpts

Ya know, Mattel could easily give is Tygra instead of Jackle Man and Cheetara instead of Pumyra. At least then we would have the core gang.

Not having at least the full gang kinda puts me off wanting any of them now.

I wonder why they are stopping Thundercats?! Maybe it's just a case of not worth the effort?

Its being reported that MOTU Classics and Club Filmation will both continue though Super 7 but they are not sure how they will be distributed, such as a subscription etc

Thundercats is still yet to be determined,so the ball is in Mattel's court

The rumor is that there are several Thundercats sculpts already done as same with Club Filmation for MOTU

If the FH are being kept on as key sculptors and artists then the line should be fine BUT I stress that they add details and more paint apps to the Collector Club series and keep the plainer versions for the filmation versions. If we are going to pay high prices for these then give us more paint apps and details rather than less.

Added to that I hope they make shipping a bit cheaper and easier for international customers which make up a good chunk of paying customers for the brand, especially in Germany.

Thank the gods :yess: I finally snagged a Queen Grayskull at a decent price thanks to Matty clearing out their stock now. Just keeping my fingers crossed that the rest of the 200x figures stay in stock for a while so I pick up the other three I need to complete the 200x sub line.

Curious though, do you think they may start marking down some of the other motu items like the vehicles and two packs ? Or add even older figures ?

I imagine a lot of stuff will get marked down, but I'm guessing they will wait until closer to the end of the year. Anything else that doesn't sell, they will probably unload like they did with Big Lots. I doubt they will add much in the way of older figures though. They may add a few during a Black Friday type of sale, but probably most of them have already sold out.

4 Horsemen will still do the sculpts

The biggest drawback is Snake Mountain. Super 7 sounds fearful to do it

So, thats it for SDCC? No recent news from S7 about what is comming and when? At least they should have told us something about the latest protos such as Roton and HT and if they are still going to be released. Not a really good start. Not a really good feeling. I have high doubts that this will perform well.

Some more concrete news! Finally!

Now we can say it...

YES! Four Horsemen Toy Design and Super 7 are going to be working together to continue Masters of the Universe Classics. You can all take a deep breath and relax now. Lol. It might take us a bit to get all of our ducks in a row, but we´re all working very hard to make this happen.
As for Thundercats? Four Horsemen and Super 7 are both VERY interested in working together to continue that as well, but those logistics are a little more complicated than MotU Classics. We´re pushing for it to happen, but that´s all we can really reveal for now. Please be patient and we´ll let you know as soon as we have something more solid to announce.
