Re: The Man of Steel

Oz was awesome and what put Meloni on my map. He was so great at being Keller, so freaking creepy.

He was always getting his shlong out :horror There was a fair bit of shlong in that show actually and not nearly enough muff to balance it out IMO. That other L&O lady must have though 'fairs fair' - also how many people from Oz went to L&O? Like the whole cast? :rotfl This is the Oz L&O thread now.:lecture

Christopher Nolan and Zach Synder present "Superman Deadliest Catch."

He would be able to just fly down and grab all the pots surely, he would be employee of the month all the time, the other fisherman would be like 'I HATE that guy!':rotfl

Re: The Man of Steel

I was one of those people who HATED Superman my whole life. With a passion. I just did not like him.

I watched the trailer in theater before TDKR came on, tried to hate it... but I couldn't. That short trailer made me sooo excited - It might be a little too soon for predictions, but it looks like it could be a solid film. :)

Re: The Man of Steel

I do have to wonder how much more excited people would be right now if the special SDCC trailer was the one they actually released. It indeed has a hint of some of the action and scope. And a slo-mo shot of Supes walking from the Fortress of Solitude with his cape blowing around that brought down the house.

Obviously, they're waiting a bit to show any of this stuff to the mainstream. But believe me the teaser that's out is just a hint of one small aspect of the film. There's plenty of spectacle coming our way.

I felt that way through pretty much all of the 90's. I thought they taken him and made him a one dimensional joke of what he should be.

Then I read Action Comics #775 in 2001 and this panel changed my perspective

A LOT more

The teaser worked well for me but the general audience simply doesn't get artsy stuff as much as they get obvious action shots

Sad but true :dunno

Re: The Man of Steel

I'm so so so cautiously optimistic for this. Superman was my favorite growing up, I still rank him right alongside Batman, I enjoyed Superman Returns (I know! Blasphemy!), but Snyder being behind the camera scares the hell out of me, great script or not.

His work on 300 and watchmen was solid if not vapid, while Sucker Punch could barely be passed off as a film...so his more recent downward trend frightens me.

I'm pretty sure the film itself has been in post production for a while; it was originally scheduled for a Christmas 2012 release and got bumped as WB wanted to space out it's heavy hitters a bit more.

Same. Superman has always been one of the most boring/cheesy/uninteresting superheroes to me...but I don't think any teaser trailer has amazed me as much as this one has.
It all just fits together perfectly imo.

I was expecting something more "badass", with lots of action since this is the guy who made The 300, but this could not have been a better teaser.

Re: The Man of Steel

Yes, nice artsy teaser.

Now show me him slamming Zod's head with a high rise standing in for a baseball bat and then frying his face with his eye laser beam! :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

One man's social experiment to see if he could turn on fanboys with borderline child pornography hidden under the guise of fantasy? :lol

:goodpost: :lol But it's female empowerment nam, you just don't get it, man.

I watched Sucker Punch on a recommendation a couple months ago. I skipped it at first because it was slammed upon release with bad buzz, but as time went on, I kept hearing that there was more to it, more depth and a message underneath it all. Then I watched it. The message was that Snyder trolled himself with this pile.

Even still, I'm interested in seeing his take on Supes.
