Major Bludd & Destro WIP (Destro complete 4/11)

Ok, so I am combining my Major Bludd and Destro threads. Major Bludd -Got the SS shirt, but it doesn't match the pants I had, so I guess I'm looking for the SS pants, if anyone has an extra set to trade. Here he is with the arm armor sculpted on and primed.

I left some space to flex the elbow.

I know I need to work on my sculpting skills. Need to get better at finishing.
Also, deciding on what helmet to use.

Painted German style?

Or Sideshow?

Not too bad of a start. Arm needs a little more work.
Also I like the sideshow helmet better

Sanded the arm a bit and painted it black.

Oh ok i thought his arm was metal it would be more realism. I remember the figure i hated his closed fist but it did hold his weapon. I think your helmet cut down to german point was cool. mine from sideshow is kinda big even with foam inserts.

Yeah, I'm not too concerned with realism. I'm more focused on the look of the original figures and cartoon and comics.

Destro- I am using a DML football body with done bulk added. I will be using one of Spider's awesome suits. I still need to figure out some other things.

Here is the original head.

Added some detail to the mask.

Sanded it and added 1 coat of primer.

Already looks better than the Doctor Doom sculpt Sideshow gave us. Can't wait to see that head chromed.

Funny how none of them show him with all-black armor. That was strictly on the actual action figure.

Well it's close to black filmation could get gun metal grey, and artwork kinda hard to illustrate it without using silver to show it's metal. it's black and silver blended to get it. metallic was ubber expensive in the 80's. for cartoons and comics used soft tones since they couldn't afford to do metallic. hence yellow for gold and light grey for silver. back then gun metal color was just black or charcoal color.

This all looks cool man. Can't wait to see the Destro either. I think it's good to that you're going more with the overall look of the fictional character rather than realism. That's what i'm shooting for with my Joe customs as well. I don't see a need for tons of gear that won't be displayed with them.

Got the boots I wanted. They're off a 21st Century Misfits Jerry Only figure. Had to buy both misfits figures but got them for a great price. PM me if interested in parts. .

Not sure if I should take the spikes off the back or keep them.
