I can't wait to see it! Definately marketed as a comedy, which I think is good in this case. It would be hard to stay at ALL close to the show and have a serious sci-fi tone.

Will Ferrell needs to stop making movies. Now. I liked Elf and Anchorman, but since Anchorman, every single movie has been basically the same character, with the same personality, though a different name and in different situations. I feel every one of his movies is simply a slapstick remake of the last.

Will. Stop. Please.

It was way cheesy to begin with. I can't see him making it any worse. Worth a watch.

The problem I have with Will is that every movie I see him in I feel like its the same character. Like if it was Harrison Ford he would of been Indiana Jones in Star wars.

He just doesn't change character to me . Now in a movie like anchorman thats fine because he is a funny guy.
I think this movie could do better though.

These guys get it. In Will Ferrell movies, Will Ferrell inevitably and invariably plays Will Ferrell. Same person. Different situations. Awful.

It wasn't enough to have a Ferrell bastardized version of Bewitched? Does he have to rip all the purity of childhood away and kill it with his unacting abilities? The original may have been "cheesy" but that was the 70's, intentionally making it stupid is another thing.
Oh......And IMDB just reported that Ferrell will be Jason of Star Command and Cmdr. Gampu in Space Academy.

I worked on this , and aside from the geek out aspect of meeting Sid and Marty Krofft, I had time to talk with them. They are very happy with the approach to this film , and wanted to go a certain direction. I am a bit burned out on Will myself , but being there for filming, I think he fits this films take on Land of the Lost. I'm hoping for an entertaining film

Good to know Sid and Marty are into it! I don't get all the hate for Will, I mean, if he plays a character a certain way it's 'cause the Director wants him to, look at Stranger Than Fiction he was great in that. He may not be the funniest out there, but I find him amusing for the most part.

I'm still convinced Sid and Marty were smoking some serious bud when they made those shows in the 70's. C'mon, Lidsville? That show is an LSD trip in itself.
