...the waist clamps have broken on most of them...

My Single Gentlemen Figure is still in the box since I haven't had a chance to pull him out yet. Are you saying I should be very careful when attaching him to the clamp or no matter what I do, eventually it'll snap?

It is all plastic, not like the wire ones you may be used to Fritz. I reckon heat will make it even more brittle over time. Mine hasn't broken, but take care. I slip mine in sideways at the narrow hip and twist it in slowly. The clothes help it to slide, and there is some give.

When mine broke I just wrapped a sturdy wire around the side that didn't break and I fashioned a new "hook" with the wire. It works wonderfully and you can't see it because I put them under the clothes whenever possible.
