Another tip, if the thongs on the forearms on yours are sticking out at weird angles (like mine where) you can fix it easily. The thongs are actually leather so you can use water to "pose" them. Apply some water to the base of the thongs and then attack clothespins if you have them or anything else with a little weight to it. Just let them dangle until the leather is dry and now they'll hang naturally off the arm.

Well goddamnit. I started work on a leather replacement belt and went to take the belt off. Seemed simple enough, plastic belt with a closure in the back. I pop open the closure and it still won't come off. Turns out the belt is connected to the codpiece which in turn is connected to silver undies that cover his entire pelvis. I don't know if anyone has looked under his loin cloth in the back but he's sporting full metal pants. Makes replacing the belt really hard if not impossible.
Grrr. I had done some really promising tests too that I really liked the look of.

Just like Elder 2. I imagine you could think of a way to connect the metal undies to the belt. Wouldn't be impossible. And any places you'd make the connection would be covered by the loincloth anyway.

Want to make a pouch for mine too. Looks weak with that. Great refinements on your's Dedguy.
Got mine today. Made an opening the box vid I may or may not post on Youtube. But will post a review later together with my P2 and P2 Elder.
Like it a LOT! Has it's flaws, mostly that new chest piece with the batt box in it, a full half an inch or so shorter than the P2 Elder's chest, making him look thicker through the middle, but shorter... otherwise, NICE!
Best out of box paint of any of the HT Preds so far. This one deserves the best treatment.
I'll repaint the inner mouth and touch up here and there, and post pics when I can.
FINALLY! I am done with personal Predators!

So the belt wasn't as big of a headache as I though. It looks like it's attached in the front and all the way across the back. Really it's only attached to the front. The back just has a sort of plastic landing area for the belt. So I went ahead and cut off the front, removed the belt, cut off the buckle, and attached the new leather belt.
The leather I weathered down with acrylics thinned with a clear medium and then rubbed off. The edges of the belt I worked with some sculpting tools to give it a more finished look as opposed to just the raw cut. I tried some methods for stamping the little squiggly lines that are on the HT belt but couldn't get anything to work. I don't even know if thats accurate. I can't see them in any screencaps. No pics of the belt on as I put a bit of pure silicone on the feet of the Pred to give him some traction as in wide stances on my slick shelves he seems to slowly get a wider and wider stance as the feet slide apart.

Oh, I also ran across this custom mask on thehunterslair and it got me thinking maybe the bullet holes in the mask aren't so far off. I went scouring through the DVD for a scene where you could see them sure enough they're there in the later scenes. They're not full on dents so much as scorch marks no actual sculpting changes done to the mask but at least it now kinda makes sense to me.

I'm remaking the belt pouch and on pretty much every collectable I have seen the pouch just has the two straps or no straps at all. What do you guys think? I find a better pic of it and it sure as hell looks like three straps to me.

Looks like 2 straps with something wrapped around the belt in between them, but it doesn't seem like it's part of the pouch.
Dedguy, we need a listing of all mods that could be done to make your Predator perfect, much like the Aliens Marines Thread.

Looks like 2 straps and a belt loop to me. And the bullet holes in the mask are pretty spot on, I didn't realise till I flicked through my Stan Winston book when doing my review. They were much more pronounced than I remembered!

Weirdly both in screencaps and on actual screen used props the armor both appears to be just silver with black airbrushing as well as a sort of mottled jungle camo.

The foam latex of the suit could possibly have picked up colors from the dirty and what not while filming but that also seems unlikely. The only thing that makes sense at all is that they simply painted the suit differently at different times.
