I really want this thriller version, but I am a little bit on the fence because of seeing the original proto pics and the actuals.

For those who have bought it, are you happy with the purchase overall? I know some people have talked about adding a little eye liner and whatnot, but I'm not sure if I want to risk the chance at making a mistake.

I have only started collecting hot toys figurines since may but This has to be my favorite peice. I managed to snag mine on ebay for about 130.

I love mine. Just that a head repaint is REQUIRED for it, IMO. The paint apps on the non zombie face are just too plain. Also, if you want a repaint, you can always ask some of the guys here on the boards to help you with it()

I'm definitely satisfied with my purchase. But I got the figure+extra slim truetype for $145... so honestly, If I paid $200+ for all that, I wouldn't be as thrilled. Same would go for Bad!... I'm holding out on it because $180+ is just too much for what I get.

Yeah, but you have to admit the great sculpt showing a better likeness of MJ is sort of worth it.

I think the figure is very nice, I just don't think it should be priced higher than other figures, especially when it comes with less than them.

Bought it yesterday. I plan to do a little re-painting when I get it. Can anyone recommend a good brand/color for adding shading to the skin?

Rather than paint you could start with a charcoal stick/pencil for drawing or even an eyeliner/makeup pencil if what you mainly want to do is darken/shade areas. With that you could try out things easily and presumably wipe it off without any trouble. I haven't done this before though and so I don't really know, I'm just guessing.

Heh, alright. I'd actually been wondering about it for a while, because people say a little shadow under the eyes makes a big difference with this figure and so I was thinking of a reversible way to do that.

Here below is a quick test with the recent TrueType narrow head, just to see how it'd go. I knew it would wash off but I wasn't certain it would stick (maybe the surface was too slick/glossy I was thinking), but it seems to go on just fine.

I used a Faber Castell charcoal pencil. I smudged it with just my finger and a q-tip. You see I washed off the cheek and forehead at the end and it looks back to normal. If you wanted it darker you'd add several layers.

I'm not recommending this as a way to go, I just think if someone wanted to experiment it seems to me one way to go. You can judge from the quick pictures here whether it might work for you with what you want to do.
