I've recently gotten into making silicone molds to make more Colonial Marine armor to do a squad build, and the only part I've mastered now is the ab pad/plate since it's a thick and simple piece. Does anyone have any advice or tips on how to get good casts of such thin pieces of armor? The pieces are only about 1/16" thick and impossible to get out of the mold successfully! Can someone help me out on how to cast them?
Thank you!

I don't actually, essentially I just used a dab of hot glue on the bottom, standing the chest piece vertically, and poured the silicone all around it. I was wondering if it would be better if I glued it to a small part of a dowel rod inside the box so that there is a hole for the resin. My main problem is trying to find the best way to open the mold. I was thinking I might have to do a two-part mold, which I haven't done before but it looks pretty straightforward!

I have to cut it to open it, because the plastic the armor is made of is pretty brittle. The ab plate I could pretty much pull out, but I think I will have to cut around it and hope for the best.

Also, thank you for the video! That seems pretty simple actually. I think My problem was that I used too big of a box so it was a lot of digging around to find the plate itself.
