I think if you don't have kids you should get more money back since you aren't using up valuable resources. For example, I will never send a child to school so therefore I should get a tax break and none of my taxes should go to paying for other people's children to get educated.
I always found it backwards that people with kids get more back than those without and why do married people get breaks? Doesn't really seem fair at all to me. if anything, taxes should be based upon what you use and consume as a citizen.

i dont know. i wake up in the drunk-tank a couple times a month and i like the fact that other people are paying for my overnight stint in jail. it just eases up on my wallet a little you know.

I'll be getting about $6300 back from the feds. 2008 was my first full year as a pharmacist, but I overpaid my federal taxes on each paycheck. I have no other deductions or taxes since I don't do any of those IRA or other income stuff yet. Also, in Texas we don't have a state tax so no additional paperwork for me. 
Oh, and I think I may finally get the combat edition T2 endoskeleton!

Not a dime, I have to pay like I do almost every year since I have been married. My wife's employer does not seem to withhold enough taxes, so we pay.

we did pretty good this year we're getting about $12k and change. i claim single 2 all year.

I'm getting $500 back......but next year I will be a home owner and am looking forward to getting a bigger chunk back.
That does help. We added a security system and a few other things that we were able to get deductions for so make sure you get it all. How is the house search going by the way?

Taxes done. $4600 from Federal, $3900 from State. Most will go into my house (finishing the basement) and the rest will fund my collecting habit through June (unless something unexpected and/or unfortunate happens). 
Are we getting back a stimulus check again this year? I have not been paying attn.
I don't think so. On the news last night they said something about getting $13 a week back on your paycheck, but I didn't catch what that was all about.
No Stimulus Checks with this bogus "Stimulus Package".
Conversely, they could have sent a $19,000 check to EVERY tax-payer directly and it would have cost less than the B.S. that just got passed. Think that just might have helped folks and actually stimulated the economy?
