Or have Doll Trooper toss the doll at Jyn, who catches it in mid-air and (queue emotional music) reminiscence's about her childhood, her lost mother and father before getting vaporized by the hidden grenade...

That's great... and terrible. Imagine if soldiers tossed things people actually wanted to catch. Like money that is secretly laden with bio-acid. Or exploding boobs.

That's sneaky and unfair.

Which gun does the Trooper who picks up the doll have in the movie?

Iv got the deluxe on order and it's accurate to everything that I can see apart from it doesn't have the rangefinder on the helmet.
Might have to pick up a regular death trooper helmet loose before I get mine

Except that that's a publicity shot... and not what the trooper looks like in the movie who actually picks up the doll.

See to be honest I didn't notice any of the death troopers having range finders in the film. I was just busy basking in the awesomeness of it all.
Anyone got a pic from that scene in the film then?
Not that I don't believe you wor-gar

I've looked, but I can't find one. I'm curious two exactly what that guy wore. I just remember when I saw it saying to myself "hey that's not the guy" because I was so familiar with the pub shot.

I'm seeing this again tomorrow I think so I'll check.

OK, just got back from seeing it again and the Death Trooper who actually picks up the doll in the movie is an HT regular trooper with rangefinder. No shoulder pauldron, no ammo pack. He is not the one seen above in the publicity shot.

If you don't believe me, you will come April.

I can see a lot of regular death troopers being pre ordered by those that are getting the deluxe. Hot Toys messing with their OCD & wallets :vader

If I were to indulge in my OCD I would get a specialist and regular. Deluxe and regular is still two figures with rangefinders.

Thanks for the update Wor-Gar. Should be simple to fix assuming HT don't go glue crazy. But then again it's Hot Toys glue so shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks wor-gar. So all the reg needs is the stormtrooper doll to recreate that scene? Can see the dolly selling for silly money.
Can anyone that has the regular specialist let us know if the gear is remove able?

I hope the death troopers are selling for TFA trooper prices by the time krennic is announced. They aren't doing these guys any favors keeping their boss MIA.

The specialist's gear comes off, someone here did it. But I have a feeling the deluxe's gear will be glued (like Luke's stormtrooper belt grappling hook). That's my fear anyway.

The deluxe trooper works for the big battle finale -- pauldrons + rangefingers.

That, and also If my memory serves me:
Spoiler Spoiler:

Not like that is the way I'd want to display him, but it just shows how much more iconic the Deluxe version is amongst all of Hot Toys' Death Trooper releases.

Spoiler Spoiler:

It was, but with no rangefinder in that scene.

And for those keeping score on what gun kills who:
- the big 'trident' rifles kill 3 major characters.
- the smaller, sleeker rifles kill the lined-up scientists.

Damn, Wor-Gar knows his Death Troopers. What about the two that accompanied Krennic to the vault? Deluxe as well?

Funny enough, I watched that scene hard but its nearly impossible to tell without freeze-frame. I couldn't even tell if the guy who falls screaming had a pauldron or not.

If it were my movie, I would have made them regular, since the rest of his unit all seemed to be 'deluxed' out when they disembarked into battle (or most of them).

I may have to bite the bullet and get the Deluxe and the "entry level" one. If a Krennic figure appears, they will flank him. If Krennic is a no-show, they will stand alone on their own Detolf shelf... Or with the Shore-Trooper.
