Re: Hot Toys Rogue One Death Trooper Specialist

The new pics look great, but why would HT weather the boots and armor, but not give us an environmental base??

Re: Hot Toys Rogue One Death Trooper Specialist

For the same reason why the U.S. military still uses the M4 Carbine and the M9 when there are far more advanced rifles and pistols in existence. Older tech is more established, reliable, cheaper to maintain, and still gets the job done.

Choose an outdated weapon (that's what a lightsaber supposedly was), but the highly advanced 2SO-level robotics is never seen AT ALL - in any form - in the OT.:slap:lol

In the OT, we saw everything from dusty outposts to moon-sized artificial gravity space stations to miles-long lightspeed-capable spacecraft; Rebel, Imperial, Warlords, unaffiliated... the length and breadth of the galaxy... and yet EVERYONE "chooses" to ignore advanced technology that can make a robot sprint and sticks with squeaky waddlers and rolling trash cans?

Retcon Kool-aid alert.:rotfl

Re: Hot Toys Rogue One Death Trooper Specialist

The base is my only nit about the whole package. The figure looks amazing and to me it looks like the undersuit is thinner and more flexible than those of TFA.

I don't know, even after seeing them in a few frames of film, I'm definitely in for 2 of these guys. Hopefully Krennic gets produced so he can be flanked by these monsters.

Hey Derek,

where are these pics from ? Secret Base ??

I like the stand except the floor. I would rather not be a picture. Even just black or gray would be better although the OT with the grating is my favorite.

I reckon it will be similar to the first releases from TFA, specialised limited edition bases for the first and different bases for all the later releases. An environmental base would rock for these guys. ( Providing it isn't a re-work of the tatooine/ jakku sand base).

The helmet difference between the Sideshow PF and the Hot Toys 1/6th scale figure bothers me. Pass, for now (unless they had the little side piece).

Even the actual costumes are inconsistent.

The figure looks amazing. I'm just annoyed that they nudged the price up yet again.

There's no actors likeness to pay for, or any die cast material, but the price is $235, and likely $250 after shipping is added. I bet in another nine to twelve months the average price will be $300.
