I've pretty much always had them displayed in dino form, I don't even recall what they look like transformed into robots The joints that can move in dino form feel solid for the most part, such as the birds wings & head, and the legs/head/jaws of the other 2. The 1 exception would be the right rear leg of Sludge that isn't tight but isn't terribly loose either.
