I take it you have dirtied up the jumpsuit, right? If not, which jumpsuit is that? SSC v1 (2011) or v2 (2016)?
Thanks,
m.

How easy would it be to make the base light up? I'm thinking of having 3 side by side for Fett Vader and a Stormtrooper.

Just messing around with my extra parts for fit and height, etc. I want to improve on the proportions of the ESB Fett and make a nice prepro fett. I’m not sure what the underlying body is on Fett (I won’t have him for awhile yet), but this body (HT TrueType) is modified with an old enterbay chest, and sideshow/hot toys clone trooper arms. Switching out the shins, back and forth to gauge what height I’m going with. You could use a hot slim chest as well...just something to bring in the shoulder width a bit.

Whatever parts you have used it certainly could pass for a "man in a suit" once the helmet has been added. The proportions are better and the suit just seems to fit naturally. I'll be following your build with much interest.

What are people's opinions on re-using parts from the old Medicom ESB Fett with the HT version. Are the Medicom parts going to be much too small to scale properly, or could parts like the gauntlets or hands actually be a better fit after a little modification?

In my pics above, I’m using the medicom gauntlets. The first 2 pics are with medicom hands and the rest are with the marmit hands.

It’s the marmit suit with added weathering.

Amazing job dude... Fit is, as paulcarson says, almost real. Much testing done with different bodies? Which one was the chosen one?
I have issues with older stuff: fit must be great, but stitches on that jumpsuit are so obvious to the eye, that crashes the overall in-scale feeling... I can't see the gauntlets well, but even if you have done an outstanding job weathering them, sculpting must forcibly be inferior to current jobs, isn't it?
Neck looks quite right, long and thick. HT jobs are a bit short-and-thin-necked (look at Sideshow's 1:1 bust and you'll what I am talking about).
So please, keep us posted buddy! :)
Best,
m.

The body I put together on the 1st try worked the way I wanted it to. I’ve been working on my other Fett custom for over 10 years, so the process has been (over) thought out already. This Fett is going to be closer to scale with my Vader, rather than my other one. Going forward, the shin length I stick with will depend on the whole ensemble, once I have it.
Stitching is more prevalent in photos than in person. I will be removing the stitching used to attach the Velcro on the pouches, along with some other adjustments. Until I get the HT suit, I don’t know witch suit I’ll use for which figure.
HT and SSC gauntlets have there problems. I’ll be customizing the gauntlets using the best bits, but Medicom and Marmit both have an excellent overall shape and fit. The screen used gauntlets are softer sculpts than what SSC or HT have produced. The sharp details on those sculpts accentuate the errors, IMO. We’ll see.

This is a test fitting with my custom body and some other mods. It basically tells me what I still need to go back and change/adjust. I’ll post all my mods once I’ve finalized everything...but here’s what’s happening so far.

Reposting these in here for those interested in kitting out their SS V1 fett with the PRO gear...

The HT helmet sits too high on the stock SS neck joint so needs replacing...I used a shorter joint from a narrow shoulder knock-off body..

The SS cape/peg is easy remove from the armor by first heating it up a little and then prying it out. You can then clip in the PRO cape/peg..View attachment 423140

Thanks for the mods.

I think I'm going to splurge and get the Deluxe. I have a SS V2 and I'll be modding that to fit the extra pieces.

I found that I had to use the HT Fett helmet as the starting point. For the body and proportions HT used, it doesn’t fit right. Stripping the figure down, it looked as though it should not even be able to support the weight. He’d be Boba Falls over a lot. Regardless of the accurate and inaccurate details of the helmet, unless you’re looking at it the right way, it can look oddly clunky because of the disproportions.

Body:
A few attempts told me I needed to,
A. Keep the shoulders close to the body.
B. Add height to the waist.
C. Shorten the ankles. The HT feet add too much height to the overall leg, because of the inside joint socket. Rather than mod, you can use SSC Fett feet with small ball joints instead.
D. Add a little width to the chest/ribs.

-HT TrueType chest (old).
-HT Batman 89 neck, bottom shaved (you can use the Fett neck. I used it for my prepro figure.
-Medicom arms. You have to dremel in the sides of the chest so the Medi shoulder joints can fully swivel. If you have the old TrueType should joints, you can just attach the Medi arms to them, no fuss.
-HT TrueType or Fett waist with inner joint modified about 1/4” taller.
-HT Vader ANH groin and thighs (remove rubber groin).
-HT TrueType shines, shortened.
Probably there strangest body I’ve put together. I usually favor trying to get the figure shape right without padding.

Rangefinder:
-Marmit shortened stalk.
-HT view piece.

Wookiee Scalps:
HT scalps are excellent, but I wanted them a little thinner and older looking.
-Kenner vintage Wookiee scalps modified, with HT silver scalp added for HT ROTJ Fett (weathered). Tips added or frayed and tied off where needed.

Gauntlets:
-Marmit right gauntlet, Hasbro Fett 30th hose attachment, clear shrink tube (put around textured string, shrink, pull out string. This adds texture. Put on picture hanging wire if you want it to bend and stay or put in thin thread or string.
Painted more details and weathering.
-Marmit left gauntlet, with HT rocket and flamethrower. Painted details/weathering.

Hands:
-Marmit with Medi Darth Mail joints. Glove sleeves added with trim you can find in craft or sewing dept.
96d32dfb146a12e127606324b73bd683.jpg

Blaster:
Medicom/SSC hybrid. HT blaster is really nice, but seemed to thin in the barrel (to me). The custom appears to have more heft to it.
-SSC handle, stock and scope.
-Medi barrel with chrome contact paper. Painted/weathered.
-custom strap.
bfbe09a42a2f1e9e5c55bde2634d80f1.jpg

Belt:
-Medi pouches, recolored. I like to mix the right color with acrylic and apply to the material after it’s soaked. Dry and then hand wash it with mild soap.
-Added Jetpack belt from ROTJ Fett.

Suit:
-Just weathered up the shins and sleeves a bit and add a little stuffing in neck collar (I think I did the neck thing after I took pic..,it’s subtle.

I think this improves the overall look of the figure and it keeps the Helmet from looking wonky at different angles because of the proportions. I do wish the flack vest and armor were just a tad bigger. Anywho...

For Prepro Fett did it a little different, trying to do it as similar as possible as I don’t have double the parts with everything. As the prepro parts are a mishmash, I just decided to have fun with this one, rather than be a stickler accuracy. In the end, I just wanted it to be a cool representation of the vintage Fett figure some of us waited for in anticipation all those years ago.
Body:
-HT TrueType chest
-HT Fett neck
-Medi arms
-HT Fett or TY waist. I heightened the differently, by attaching the wait night up the spring joint and adding padding underneath to keep it firm.
-HT Fett legs
-Added the padding that HT Fett comes with...mainly for the legs. I don’t like the way the padding looks under the HT suit, but it’s not noticeable under the baggy Marmit suit.

Suit:
-Marmit. I really like the color and baggies for the prepro look. Removed some stitching from pant pouches, stuffed and reattached. Weathered suit.

Wookiee scalps:
-Vintage Kenner and HT ROTJ. Added beads.

Gauntlet:
-Medicom right ESB, painted with custom hose.

Hands:
Cloth patches and sleeves added. Painted.
-Marmit right.
-SSC ESB left.

ROTJ jet pack belt added.

You know..seeing all these Marmit parts used really makes me wish I never sold mine back in '12 when SS Fett came out. Never been one to keep the old version once a 'new and improved' one came out. Like how I also regret selling my Toys McCoy Indy..lol not so much with the bobbleheaded SS one though.

I was going to sell my SS Fett back when I pre-ordered this figure..glad I didn't. Even though I picked up a regular and deluxe to make both looks; it's nice to have those different SS parts to make the PP one look even more unique. Now I'm in a Fett frenzy and want to get every single 1/6 Boba made. Good god....that'd be a lot of Fett's.

So consensus is that if one has a SS version it probably is a good idea to get the deluxe as you essentially will have 2 Fetts
