Seeing it tomorrow night. Just saw it's tracking for a massive opening weekend. So much for those boycotts people online kept talking about.

If this is a massive hit those people will be so angry! Imagine spending months trolling every Captain Marvel ad on social media and failing to hurt the box office? There will be some very angry people!

I actually watched a video yesterday where a guy was willing to suggest buying a ticket for one movie and theatre hop into Captain Marvel so as not to inflate their sales and numbers. Wow.

The movie was awesome, i dont like the character in the comics (prefer the Miss Marvel version) but in the movie you can actually relate to carol and her infinity power. If the avengers endgame suit is released by hot toys its a instant buy for me

Personally, I'm not feeling the gold shoulders on the Endgame version. As Rocket would say, "It's a bit much". But maybe they'll look less gaudy when we can see the entire suit. I'm not sure who mentioned it earlier, but the blue/red/gold combination & darker hues do indeed remind one of the Iron Spider suit.

As for the movie, I'm of the same opinion as joloestrella.

Definitely do still want this figure after seeing it, though will probably wait until after Endgame, if only to let the wallet catch its breath. Also, time to add Talos to the list of wishful thinking characters that'll never get made.

Talos/Skrull-wise,

the sympathetic version of the Skrulls threw me at first because I was expecting a more paranoid/ominous tone for them, but I guess that take will be saved for some version of Secret Invasion someday, and ultimately I thought they really landed this depiction of them. Especially once they're reluctantly working together. Also found it funny that Talos just so happened to sim a SHIELD guy who had the same Ben Mendelsohn-esque lisp.

I highly doubt we'll ever get a Talos, though after seeing how much of the movie Carol spends in the green suit, that seems like something they could easily re-dye for a summer exclusive.

I agree on all points. They really did land this version of the Skrulls, we probably won’t get a Talos figure, and the green CM Suit does seem likely to be a summer exclusive (at least prior to Endgame).

Given the suit’s ability to change colors, I’m surprised they didn’t have them use it in a stealthy way - i.e., have it adapt to their surroundings in a chameleon-like manner at times.

Great movie. Solid origin story film. Really nice that it works as a neat prequel to both Avengers and Avengers: Endgame. Not perfect, but did what it needed to do. Everyone was great, too, and well cast as usual.

I'm really glad they did what they did with the Skrulls because

it really deflates any theories of setting up for Secret Invasion with this movie. Leaving the door open to the possibility that any one of the characters in the MCU was a Skrull all along would undercut the years we've spent with them and be a disservice. So I'm glad they were just refugees and that only a couple of Skrulls came to Earth and they were all more or less accounted for, and they weren't interested in infiltration. There was even a line about Talos having just tied up the director and not killed him if I recall correctly.
