Hi All,

A mate gave me his 1:72 scale Poe's X-wing to do a dio for him and I decided to do one when his flying across the water wuth the other X-wings.

Recipe

Poe's X-wing - is from Bandai is built straight out of the box and was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints.

Base - is a picture frame which I took the glass out and replaced it with foam board. I then used spakfilla to cover the base and while drying I used a teaspoon and made the waves by lightly flicking the teaspoon over the spakfilla.

Once dry the base was painted with Vallejo Medium Green and then a few washes of Vallejo Dark Blue. Once the wash was dry I then drybrushed the thw base with Vallejo Foundation White to show the waves.

After the drybrush was done I then used Woodland Scenics Realistic Water and poured it over the base. Once the Realistic Water was dry I then used Woodland Scenics Water Effects to give the waves a little depth and once dry I again drybrushed the waves with Vallejo Foundation White.

The wake/water spray was done using cotton wool and I ripped the cotton wool apart and glued in place and once dry I started to pull the wool to make it more thicker and give it depth.

Hi All,

Finished a new dio today and I have been playing Battlefront alot lately and love it as it always gives me dio idea's.

This dio depicts aT-47 Airspeeder heading into battle on Sullust.

Recipe

Speeder - is from Bandai and is built staright form the box except the pilot which are from Hasegawa's 1:48 pilot/ground crew set as I wanted pilots with masks. The speeder was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and Pastel Chalks.

Base - is foam board cut out to the shape I wanted then I used scrap pieces of high denisty foam and ripped those apart to make the rocks.

Once the foam rocks were glued down and had dried I used spakfilla with a little PVA glue and some artist Slate colour paint and covered the base and rocks.

Once dry I painted and weathered the base using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks. The lave was done by mixing Vallejo's Flat Red and a little of Vallejo's Light Orange in with Woodland Scenics Realistic Water and then used a brush and filled in the lava stream section

Hi All,

New dio, Scout Trooper Endor.

Recipe

Scout/Speeder - are from Hasbro BS 6" line and the trooper had it's joints glued and puttied and then the Trooper and Speeder were pianted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and Pastel Chalks.

Base - The trunks were a branch I found in the bush and I cut it to two seprate sizes and treated using metholated spirits this kills any bugs and also keeps the wood from rotting.

The ground work was bulit up firstly using spakfilla, dirt and sand and once the mix was done it was spread across the base. Once dry I then used a mix of cruched lichen moss, static grass, leaves and small thin twigs to make dead foliage and then I mixed the lot together and then glued it to the base.

Once the glue was dry I then gave the dead foliage mix two washes of Vallejo Flat Brown and an it dry.

Once dry I started adding the greenery, the large ferns are plastic and are from my local craft shop and I cut them to size. The small ferns are laser cut paper and they are from Mig and the other two plants are plastic and are from JofIX Studios.

The plastic plants were given a wash of Vallejo Medium Green and the a 70/30 wash of Vallejo Medium Green and White. The moss on the moss on the trunks was done by mixing spakfilla and sand with some Vallejo Medium Green and then dapped over the trunks.

Looking good Ron!

I grabbed a couple of these images for "inspiration" for when I get around to filling in the background around my 1/6 scale version. :)

Hi All,

Assault on Echo base completed.

Recipe

Snowtrooper - is from Hasbro's BS 6" line and I glued the joints and covered them over. The hands and weapon are from Bandai and I removed the Hasbro hands and cut the armour off and glued them onto the Bandai hands.

I also removed the rubber karma and replaced it with a dry baby wipe folded over and painted. The whole figure was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints.

Base - is made using balsa wood and foam board, I made the wall and ceiling double thickness and peeled off one side of them and used a soldering iron to make the excavation marks.

I then made a partial walk plate using plastic card and glued it into place. I then used watered down spakfilla and covered the base with it and once dry I gave it a few washes of Vallejo white foundation.

The hoses at the top are from an old fish take pump and the bottom power cords are from an old charger. I used thin metal as brackets. The stalagmites where done using Woodland Scenics Water Effects.

The vent was made using plastic card and the grill section is from a plastic fly swatter. The steam/vapour coming out of the vent is cotton wool pulled apart, then the last thing I did was to add snow over the hoses/cords using the left over watered down spakfilla.

Hi All,

SW Battlefront Ice Cave Assault.

Base - is made using balsa wood and foam board, the ice wall and ceiling was made using high density foam and glued inplace. Once the foam was dry I then covered the dio in watered down spakfilla and let it dry for 12 hours.

Once dry I painted the ice section with Vallejo Dark blue and then covered the ice sections with Woodland Scenics Water Effects to give it some depth. Once the Water Effects was dry I then used Woodland Scenics Realistic Water mixed with a little light blue and covered the ice sections.

Once the first layer of the mixed Realistic Water was dry I then added two more layers, I than gave the ice sections three coates of Realistic Water and then let it dry.

Once this was dry I then gave it a a mix of Realistic Water with a tiny drop of Vallejo Foundation White and lightly dapped it over the ice sections to give it a bit of a frosty look. The thing I did was two more layers of Realistic water and then added the snow using watered down spakfilla.
