What 'practical effects" in this movie does the thread title refer to? Just caught this on 'Flix and some of the tentacles might have been practical.

Decent time killer but overall a poor Thing rip-off.
 
That's disappointing, the trailer looked interesting. Carpenter's The Thing will always be King.

Man, people givin' this one a hard time. "The Thing rip-off", "worthless trash", "bad acting", ect.
It's like everyone's expectations were WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too high...

It IS pretty freaking good for a kickstarter pet project by FX studio.
 
I thought it was all practical. Also, ain't that the main focus? I don't really expect much story and great acting from a small studio whose forte is creature effects.
 
Considering for the 1/2 million dollars this cost to make I thought it was ok
