Played this on release day and was blown away. One of my favorite games. I do hope we get a lot more like this.

I have to say, it's probably one the most memorable experiences I've had this gen.

I was so creeped out being in the mansion, I just know that something was waiting for me. The story gets very compelling an hour in and the revelation was, my God. :gah:

I'll pick it up when the price drops. Looks good.

Yeah, I think the price might be unjustified for a 2 hour game, regardless of how good it is. Still glad I got it though.

I hope I don't spoil it,

Eh, hard to define it as a game. It's an interactive story.

It was decent, wouldn't spend $20 on it... it feels overpriced for the content. $10 sounds right.

Gone Home was Adam Sessler's game of the year. Wow. Well deserved in a year filled with standouts. :clap

I want to play this game. Is it just on Steam or also PSN? Any hope for a retail release?

Not that I've heard of. As far as I know it will remain a PC exclusive. I don't they'll be a retail release too, as it's just a 2-3 hour game at most. I haven't checked on Steamif it has gone down cheaper since release, I hope so though.

Aww now that's a steal! If you guys have seen the reviews/videos posted on this thread then you'll probably get the idea on what the game is all about. Common criticism about this game is that "it's not a game" "it's too short" "it's stoopid" etc. Yet with all that it still manage to hold it''s ground as something really special to many people who tried it, going up against the like of Bioshock, The Last of U and even GTAV. At this price you really can't go wrong! :yess:

Here's a spoiler free let's play of the first 30 minutes.

Love that the some pick up clues telling story and it was amazing

$10 is still abit pricey for the length.

My problem is whichever fov you use, the screen seems abit fisheyed. And the fact the most of the letters can only be read by professional readers.

Other than that it's a sweet game. Would have been great if we can see how Sam actually looks like. Lorraine looks neat.

Would have been even greater if they actually put in a Nintendo with mini games.

But i foresee there will be many people copying the concept of this game, and end up overdoing it. This game should be the one & only.

Played it and finished it yesterday (found the Mitten's Journal by accident). Good game...worth $5, not $10 and certainly not $20 in my opinion. I didn't care much for the main story (although it does suck you into creating all kinds of theories along the way) but the stories of the other family members was interesting since you had to piece together and infer a lot. Not game of the year but for it's genre, top notch...and very engrossing.

It was recently announced that Gone Home shares the same continuity as...

Bioshock.

I was curious why this game was Polygon's GOTY, and I just played it this afternoon and understood why. Probably the most emotional story I've ever experienced in a game.

I'd already read that there were no scares in the game, but that didn't prevent me from thinking there was someone down at the end of the hall, every time I turned a corner, haha.
