Has anyone noted how exactly this book is "better" than the Art of McQuarrie put out by Dreams and Visions Press several years ago? I have this on order, but it has been so long that I forgot what was special about it, besides you know, McQuarrie.

They better pack this thing securely....

(And Fury - thank you for posting your original Grendel art several pages back - nice one to own!)

Well, time to start saving a few extra dollars a month. Just secured myself an XM Optimus Prime, and here I thought the Frank Miller Bats would be my big purchase. Couldn't pass him up!!

I want to order this from Amazon, but I know they'll **** it up in shipping. Probably throw it in a box with those air bubble things that won't protect it at all. :(

With something that size and price, maybe it will have it's own brown box like the Beatles set, for example?

"Yesterday we received the first advance copy of the upcoming Abrams publication Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie, co-authored by myself, David Mandel, and Wade Lageose and due for release September 27. We spent more than 18 months working on the two-volume, 800-page set, which includes all known Star Wars art by Ralph McQuarrie. The vast majority of the artwork was re-scanned or re-photographed for the book, and it really shows in the large-format presentation. Having it in hand is a real treat, having invested so much time into it, and we know McQuarrie fans and fans of the making of the films will love it—a weighty 21.5 pounds of McQuarrie brilliance."
