Still in development. Yea since 2009. Jeez square Enix takes forever to release games.

It's actually been in production since 2006. Back then, it was FF13-Versus. Tbh the long wait has made me lose interest in this game. The new trailer looks nice but I feel we haven't really seen much new with regards to game play.

They've changed the aesthetics of the characters, so I'm guessing that's also adding to the length of development for this game. I love Final Fantasy series mainly for its aesthetics; it's disappointing that they wanted to head in a more realistic direction when it comes to the look of the characters, while still giving the main characters relatively large irises (kind of makes them look creepy). I don't mind hyper-realism but to me FF has always been mostly about the "fantasy" aspect. It's been a long time since they first announced FFXIII-Versus to the change to FFXV but I'm still looking forward to playing it, even if the characters are no longer as attractive-looking (to me) as they were originally. As a graphic designer (and a female) to me aesthetics are the most important factor to me when it comes to the video games I buy; I don't rely on other people's opinions or tastes (reviews), so it's a bit sad when the one thing I love about a game gets changed so drastically.

I like the direction. More FFVII-style world.

I prefer this type of clothing than say Tidus or Zidane.

Advent Children is probably my benchmark for favorite FF costuming/designs. Though I love Kefka's Dissidia look, and pretty much all of their suit of armor designs (IV, XII, XIII-2).

Lame ACTION RPG again. What happened to the good old fashion turn based combat? See how well turn based combat rpg sells? See Persona series, SE's own Bravely Default etc. Final Fantasy is dead to me.

I don't think it being action RPG is a bad thing. I just found the localization to be getting awful every new release. they should take some notes from SMT persona the dialogue was entertaining to the very end. I found 10 turn base boring tactics probably the best of the series, shadow hearts very underrated and surprise lost odyssey was good too.

SE Japan is just poorly managed just highly delusional.

Lost Odyssey was god awful... monotonous start up cutscenes... annoying random encounter rates... slow combat with no interesting abilities.

One of the Summons.
Played hours of this last night. It's freaking Awesome! WOW

Some Gameplay

Is the demo a download code or on a disk?

I was gonna get type-o for the demo but watching the gameplay I realise I'm not into it!
Hopefully I can get it at a reasonable price without type-o. Unfortunately so far I've only see it go for as much as the game itself haha

It's a redeemable code that comes with game. I had more fun with this DEMO then i did with that Metal Gear one. Spent many many many hours running around in FFXV last night and can't wait to play more.

Damn..now that's a summon.

I'm downloading the demo right now, but the nerd rage for this is strong. I'm a casual FF fan, so I don't follow things. Hopefully that will be the difference. FF nerds are pretty upset right now.

the fishing music reminds me of kingdom hearts.

really hoping they have some more varied locales. right now it's mostly green outdoors.

give us something like golden saucer to play at! a casino or something.

The fishing looks boring but the Chocobo racing seems pretty fun. I agree with Dominishin - I would like to see more varied environments.

I just found out there was a preorder for the limited edition at the squareenix store. Did anyone get a chance to buy it?

Played the demo, and its garbage. I really hope its mot indicative of the final game.

The controls were loose. the jaggies cut me they were soo sharp. The fighting gameplay, like everything, needs more refining

The combat was one of the highlights... but the FPS was trash which affected the gameplay.

Art and music is great.

Just going to wait for a PC version.
