From an employment perspective to replace the school one, it'd work. But who'd play the pedo boss?

Yeah why not? I've not had a longing for a sequel but that little clip made me wonder why it hasn't happened. Not like we need a new franchise out of it but one more film could be cool.

I love Ferris Bueler...what a sad half ass commercial.

Its kinda unfortunate it looks like MB totally phoned in that commerical performance...its horrible. It looks like he woke up, ate breakfast and then shot 1 crappy take in a hurry because he didn't want to miss craft service.

Seriously he looks like he ate a horse, or SJP.

What happened to his wry smile and mischevious eyes? He looks like a frikken fat medicated zombie.

It's like happiness just took a nose dive with these.

I'll always love that music... it's on Sky on Thursday. \o/

How music was so warm and touching back then.

That is a seriously good scene. So misplaced (in a good way) in that film it stands out. I always feel so bad for Cameron.

They should have a scene where he rides a horse around town. His wife could play the horse.

HOPE cam and his girl are in it ,and hope its not just a commercial..but a movie

Sorry to burst some peoples bubbles but it is for a Honda commercial...

EXCLUSIVE: Ferris Bueller’s Mysterious Super Bowl Ad Is For Honda

There's a lot of buzz right now for the clip above showing Matthew Broderick appearing to be a grown-up Ferris Bueller (bow-bow-chik-chika-chika sound effect included) looking to skip work for another day off.

While everyone thinks it's a teaser for a sequel to the hit flick "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" only Jalopnik can tell you it's not. No, it's for Honda. And that's not all.

A source familiar with Honda's operations hinted to us earlier this year that the company was going to do a Ferris Bueller-style ad for the Super Bowl starring none other than Matthew Broderick.

The source also added that the spot was going to mimic much of the original film, except this time prominently featuring Hondas. The big jump the two valets do in Cameron's dad's Ferrari? We hear this time it's going to be a Honda CR-V.

Honda is pouring a lot of money into this ad and, according to our source, hired The Hangover writer/director Todd Phillips to put it all together.

See the clip that's got everyone buzzing below.

Honda Won’t Deny Ferris Bueller Super Bowl Ad Is Theirs

Honda won't deny what everyone wants to know and we already told you: That the mysterious Ferris Bueller Super Bowl ad is Honda's. Honda pitchman? I thought Ferris was gonna be a fry cook on Venus!

A person calling themselves "chuckachucka2012" released a short 10-second video of Matthew Broderick in his Ferris Bueller character opening the curtains of a room asking "How can I handle work on a day like today?" followed by the bow-bow-chucka-chucka sound followed by the date "2.5.12" i.e. the Super Bowl.

Some wondered if Broderick would reprise his role for a sequel. Alas, a little birdie had already told Jalopnik Bueller wasn't going to take another day off so much as pick up a little work from Honda.

A spokesperson for Honda refused to deny that this is all a setup for a Honda ad — only confirming that, yes, there will be a Honda spot airing in the Super Bowl. The spokesperson wouldn't go into any details but said we might know more on Monday.

Just for an ad? Wtf. Make a damn film.

And mess up another 80's classic.

Suuuuuurrrrre!

:pfft:
It would not be a remake, but shyyty sequels always seem to take away from the first movie. (and yes it would be shyyty)
Leave SHYYT ALONE!

I'm actually relived it's for a commercial. (and a helluva idea at that)

If they get everybody back, and Ferris finds a way to get all his buddies to ditch work, and do the same kind of thing, it could be good. If nothing, but nostalgic.

Ferris is one of my fave 80's "grew up with" movies.
A movie I can watch again and again and again.

Not going to lie, I knew what it was as soon as I saw the little thumbnail pic on youtube and when I heard "bow-bow-chik-chika-chika" I got that spine tingling, nostalgic feeling.

Too bad it isn't a sequel. Even if it was crap, I don't care, it'd be interesting to see.

That would make a great opening for a teaser trailer of some kind, in fact, I'd say that's as effective as a teaser trailer. But nah, it's for honda and the ____ing Superbowl.

How would it take away from the first movie?:dunno

You guys to do realize one of the biggest reasons the movie was what it was can't come back.
