The marketing campaign for Godzilla was great. Better than the actual movie.

The very first Batman teaser trailer that showed all the new footage without any of the score. The one where people went to theaters to pay for a show JUST to see the trailer. I love the atmosphere and tone of it and the end with "wait till they get a load of me" with that hazy image of Batman at the end.

The very first Empire teaser. I liked how it was just images, I mean, what kind of production would show concept art and character stills as to promote a flick now a days? None. Can't beat the Ralph Mcquarrie paintings in place of actual footage.

"It happened at a place called . . . Jurassic Park".

The tone of in this teaser with Bruce Wayne's dialogue is more Batman than anything in the actual films. "

They told me there was nothing out there, nothing to fear. But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something. I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge. Me"

The T2 teaser is probably my favorite teaser of all time. I remember seeing it on the Total Recall VHS and getting really excited about it. I love the concept. It's so simple, yet so effective. It's really interesting how it's footage created specifically for trailers. It's also an added bonus considering we've never seen the process of how the skin is added to endoskeletons.

Back in December of 2007, I saw I am Legend for the sole purpose of seeing this. I was blown away and all through I am Legend, I couldn't stop thinking of the Dark Knight. When I got home, I remember checking going online looking for a bootleg. I found one on youtube with some obscure title name and must have watched it 100 times. This was before I knew how to download videos from youtube so I had to keep a tab up so I could watch it until it was available in HD that following sunday online.

My favorite Spider-Man trailer, the teaser for SP2. When I first saw it I knew exactly what it was for and was thinking, "man, Peter with glasses talking with MJ? This is lame". Then when Doc Ock comes into the picture with that montage, I was freaking out. Best trailer for the best Spider-Man movie.

:goodpost::clap :hi5: Yeah, my brother and I went to see I am Legend just to watch that trailer, and I remember people were clapping afterwards. I guess they were there just for the trailer...or maybe the trailer was that good. :lol

I still liked I am Legend though. I didn't leave after it.

2007 and 2008 were great years.

The last Harry Potter film had a great trailer, too.

Funny, I consider 2007 to be one of the worst years for film going back more than a decade.

What was so great about it?

I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of films, here are some of the best of 2007. I'm sure there's a few international films I'm missing :)

Eastern Promises
Juno
Into the Wild
Gone Baby Gone
300
3:10 Yuma
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
American Gangster
Ratatouille
Sweeney Todd
Harry Potter
The Bourne Ultimatum
Grindhouse
Atonement
Superbad
Enchanted
The Diving Bell and the butterfly
Zodiac
I am legend
Lars and the Real Girl
I'm not there
Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
Rescue dawn
Charlie Wilson's War
The Savages
Hot fuzz

Not feeling that list at all but thanks for clarifying your standpoint nonetheless.

2001...And I didn't like the summer films of 2003 :gah:

Oh man I loved 2001. :lol

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Monster's Inc.
Moulin Rouge
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Training Day
First Harry Potter (movie was so so but it was a great introduction to that world)

So yeah, to each his own. :duff

We can definitely agree that 2010 was nothing special at least. Some good animation (Toy Story 3, Tangled, etc.) but not much else.

89 Batman trailer is awesome.:rock

Begins trailer=also awesome; but even more evidence of why deleted scenes/extended cuts are needed.:lecture

TDK Trailer is very awesome, but, and don't get mad, I think you're wrong about the release date. I Am Legend had the first teaser attached, with the rays of light shining through the darkness with Alfred and Joker voiceover, while IMAX got the 5-minute prologue. As awesome as that trailer is, though, this one holds a special place in my heart, as I was among the first to see it at NYCC '08:
