Thanks Dusty. Once these start to ship in greater numbers directly from the US we will get a better picture on the merits of SS changes in it's business plan.

i just enquied about shipping to the UK for a celtic predator mask, just for comparison since i knew the exact shipping cost so i could compare.
it was $28.78(est) on my online invoice, cant find the email but i think $25.89 was the normal price. the new price via fedex i've just been quoted was $32.78. not the lower price i was expecting.
they were only shipping costs, no idea on vat, charges or whatever else.

Actually, the villain is you. And your neighbors. You live by taxing the hell out of each other. Don't blame Sideshow for your rotten political philosophy. Suck it up.

HA - look who's talking. You elected a socialist/communist pres. It won't be long before you envy us our taxsystem :D

thanks dusty..all the above are right.i agree totally.but in order to get customs paid, fedex hires one of her assistants and that costs 80 euros.if i choose to clear the customs myself, fedex wants 50 euros to ship the item from the airport to my address.

also,i dont live in athens, where the custom department is,but in patras, which is about 270 km from athens.so i have to hire one fedex's assistant to clear the customs for me.i think that other members also will have same problems.so please,if is possible, contact fedex and ask them not to charge us this much.

thanks for all the information dusty!!your customer service is fantastic.:D:D:D

that should all be covered in brokerage fee surely?

Ah yes the Fox News anchor is on board.:rotfl

Is that the best you can do? Dumb cliches?

For years, Sideshow has protected you from your own law, and now that you have to face it without their help, you blame them. How is it their responsibility to help you have your cake and eat it too?

I didn't vote for him.

And where do you think our political hacks got their ideas for claiming power in the name of community spirit? You guys have been doing it since Rome fell.

Personally I have a lot to thank Sideshow for as I would not have most of the things in my collection if it wasn't for them.I think they are a great company and with great products, if they were to close their doors tomorrow then we would all be screwed. They had their reasons for closing the EU warehouse and they have gone out of their way to help by doing a deal with Fed-ex which they didn't have to do. They are not responsible nor have any control over what countries charge for importing these items. At the end of the day they are a business and they are here to make money like every other business, they have even come on the forum and explained themselves which they didn't have to do either, why don't you give them a chance and see what happens and then if it is not working out then there is other places to buy SS stuff from.

Thanks Sideshow and keep up the good work :D

Unless your a native American your great great great Grand daddy did too. And unless you have lived in EU what basis can you make he claim rha we pay more taxes than the people in the US. I would say they are pretty even.

I am not my ancestor, and how much we pay in taxes here is irrelevant. If I was in your position, I would not place the blame for laws my greedy neighbors have imposed upon me, on someone trying to do business in my country's economic policy climate. American protectionism is just as wrong as European. It just so happens that in America, there is less of it. I pay no customs or taxes on packages shipped from outside the U.S. In that regard, you pay much more than we do.

I imagine our income tax is lower too. To the best of my knowledge, the only taxes that are lower in Europe than in America are at the corporate level.

devilof76 and Bullseye calm down!!!!there is no need to compare taxes between countries..we are discussing for sideshow's move to close the eu warehouse and some examples of the new shipping..:cool::cool::cool:

Will they ship via UPS???
Can we dodge all the unnecessary taxes that way?

they ship via ups but i dont know if the rates will be lower with ups..i dont think so...fedex and ups have the same fees ,at least in greece...

So...then we really have no choice whatsoever.....just the illusion of choice.
Why dont they just ship by usps?

I think it has nothing to do with TAXES as we all know what they cost.
My only concern is the FED-EX charges. I just hope that they stick to the agreement with Sideshow. That's why I will be making sure I get in touch with Sideshow a month before dispatch

Oh USPS is the United States Postal Service and using them would mean that the item would arrive in your country and then get sorted and posted out by your national postal service. E.G Royal Mail in the UK.
