Amok Time is showing an Elvira 12" figure at Toy Fair '08.

I guess this means Sideshow doesn't have the 12" license, unless they plan on co-distributing Amok Time's stuff.

Also, just in case anyone wants to know, they're also making two Betty Page figures as well.

Holy crap, they're doing 12" Bettie Page figures and Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster too! I think Amok Time are my new favorite company.

Sideshow's license includes rights for Elvira Statues, Maquettes, and Premium Format Figures with detailed clothing and accessories.

So Amok Time got the 12" license...looks nice, seems perhaps to be a CY body...no complaints here. Amok Time is taking some bold steps. I hope their production lives up to the choices they've made, and that the market supports them.

Meanwhile, I'm guessing the Sideshow PF will SLAY...

I'd love a 1:6 Elvira to display with my Uni Monsters but I'm not impressed with this figure al all. I'll wait to see some better pics before I pass judgement.

I was hoping that SS would release a 1:6 Elvira. :monkey2

Seems they're also doing a 1/6th of porn star Seka along with busts with removeable lingerie.

As for Bettie Page - that body appears to be the BBi Perfect body, which is too bad because the Takara Cool Girl 2.0 is much better for scantily clad women.

Damn, talk about bringing it! I am so impressed by Amok Time, those are some bold choices and stuff I don't think many would have the balls to take a risk on :rock

I wouldn't count your figures before they've hatched. They could just be showing all these at Toy Fair to see if there's any support for them. The Lost in Space figures were supposed to have come out 3 years ago from Scifimetropolis and I don't see the others like Penny and the hot girl that were also supposed to be in the 2nd wave.

It looks like Amok has gone scavenging - Scifimetropolis, Majestic - I wonder who else they've picked up figures from?

Yeah, I wouldn't get my hopes up yet for the Betty Page figures, it looks like a quick head swap on top of the cy girl base body. I really like the head sculp on the Blood of Dracula teen, now if only they make I Was a Teenage Werewolf it would really fill the 12" monster void.

The Horror of Party Beach monster is a bit inaccurate. The neck shouldn't be bare and smooth. And the mouth is wrong. It should just be a huge gaping hole filled with hot dogs. :monkey5

I don't see it so much as scavenging, but as picking up a ball dropped by others. If they want to make a niche for themselves by adding new characters to existing lines, and they turn out as promising as those prototypes look, they will have my full support. I can think of a few other lines that were fumbled and dropped I would love to see them pick up.

Planet of The Apes
XFiles
Highlander
Buffy
Angel

I'm sure I could come up with more, those are just off the top of my head. I wonder what happened to the 1/4 scale PF style Elvira Amok Time dispalyed at Chiller last fall?

Just to be clear I meant scavenging in a very positive manner, I'm stoked that they've picked up these lines from dying companies. I think there are more out there in need of rescue!

i'd prefer the hot dog mouth too, but i'll take it anyway. I gotta give these guys my money so they'll keep making b-movie monsters....

SFM is still around and will be releasing wave 2 of their Lost in Soace series shortly.
Amok picked up some Majestic lines and some of their own thru Monsters HD.
They are also doing a series spanning the career of Boris Karloff!!
I have some other pix that I took at my site if you're interested:
